I enjoyed my time at a friend's family cookout / picnic. This is not the place for you if you want to do a lot of rides (which I don't like anyway) but if you want to do some good ole fashioned "moving around" this is the place with the paddle boats, life size chess and checkers, basketball, rock wall climbing. Food was VERY GOOD AND PLENTIFUL. I'm even considering having such an event in the future myself. Weather was overcast which made it even better for me. Not steamy hot sun to run the outside activities.

The model for Brandywine picnic park is in need of revitalization: Tired Putt-Putt golf, all-you-can eat (so what, people generally eat one plate or two), a tired dj. Some rides were not open. Did like the giant chess board. I think folks come out because you get the basics and there's enough room for your family's reunion and you don't have to cook.

It is a nice park but geared more towards the younger crowd still in grade school. The food they provide for the guests was better than fast food but could have had some barbecue sauce for the burgers as ketchup is just so old school. Gulden's mustard for the hot dogs would also be a good option but who am I to make that call.

We truly enjoyed having our family reunion there last year and had a meeting afterwards to decide where we'd have it this year and all voted to have it there again . Yes, it is pricey for children but all of them really had a good time and didn't want to go home..As far as us adults, it was so-o nice not preparing food and packing everything up and having loads of leftovers to deal with. It was so carefree for all of us, especially for family traveling long distance. We're looking forward for a great reunion there this year

Was wondering if this was same facility that Claymont Steel used to have their company picnics back in like 2008 or 2009? There used to be an innertube float along the creek.

Yes, they should be published by mid-Spring. By the latest, late Spring. Hope that answer helps!

Can you camp here? If not, is there any campgrounds near Westchester?
