The worst program. Very little to no help exists with navigating programs under traditional services and consistent denial and hard “NO” exist when you seek SDP. The contracts of regional center are questionable, SDRC states their clients are highly educated but they are not. Anyone can acquire a degree and certificate it is about quality not quantity. We tried RDI through TAG which was a horrible and bised program against single parents. Many of us were expected to erase our memories of ABA principles, no parent collaboration. Our case worker at SDRC is negligent in responding to emails, suggestions to programs that are accessible under traditional programs, or providing free and or sliding cost programs for our family. This is Sarah. T Ramos. Our family has jsut been handed the slum of case workers who are inpatient and biased. The role of a case worker is to help a family find support services pertaining to areas of need it consistently deny and argue and find fault. When they enter my home they are very nosy and act as if they have a right to look around. Our current case worker does not understand my family member their client on pen and paper and they sure wouldn’t understand him in person.

It takes forever to get enrolled in the program. So make sure you keep running after them since you won't make it in otherwise. At least I have a great case manager in the end so it was worth the drama.

This Regional Center has fought against providing my son with severe autism and epilepsy much needed protective support services for many years. As a result, we've had to take this Regional Center to several Fair Hearings (Administrative Law Hearings.) It's been hell. So much stress for such obviously needed services and supports, even documented by their own professionals. Just so sad how hard we had to fight for what was always known that my son needed. Thankfully, there are some good service coordinators and program mangers with good hearts who have made this terribly stressful journey hopeful and have advocated for my son when so many others in higher positions went against him. Those are the angels and silent advocates inside regional centers that we must not forget exist.

That Nicole Collins lady is negligent and unprofessional. I don’t know whose hiring workers like her. First she doesn’t answer calls nor return calls when you leave voicemail. Then after thousands of attempts you get a hold of her but she’s unprofessional and careless. Complete waste of time. Lacks basic customer service

Are social workers suppose to frantennizing their clients ?? I have a proof of text saying that I'm not allowed to be in my own place when my bfs social worker says I'm not allowed to be there when she's there I need to know.her name is rosemary

Social workers are not allowed to fratternize with their clients, however the fact that she askes you to leave may have nothing to do with fraternizing at all. The social worker may have many resons to ask you to not be present. It may be that she makes more progress with the client if you are not present. Or many other issues that may be involved that you are not aware of. Allow the social worker do her job!
