Dr. Nancy and the team at SIVH came highly recommended and took such great care of our 10 year old Rexkitty for his teeth cleaning and routine wellness visits. Dr. Nancy provided pre and post procedure education for us with clear guidance throughout the process. I appreciated her providing medication to administer to him prior to visits to help manage his vet-anxiety. Having your fur baby go under for any procedure can be a stressful process and I thank the team for keeping us at ease the entire time. Michelle at the front desk was also extremely helpful in coordinating our cat's care. I highly recommend SIVH!

Dr. Darnell is the best vet you will find in the area. She fully listens to your concerns, takes her time with a complete exam of your pet, and clearly articulates information about your pet. She is honest and a good friend to many pet owners in the neighborhood. She ALWAYS has the animals best interest in mind! She goes above and beyond for every single one of her clients. After seeing multiple vets including a 2 week hospitalization for my cat, she was able to get my cat back on track to good health. I only wish I came to her sooner!

You would be very unlikely to find a better vet anywhere in SD County. I do animal rescue and know many vets. The diagnostics here are superb; Dr. Darnell has a way of getting to the bottom of things that I've seen other vets miss. There are MANY of us in rescue who agree with me wholeheartedly.

I am so thankful for Dr. Darnell. She is THE BEST. I had previously mentioned to two vets that I believe my cat had serious teeth issues. Both other vets did an oral exam, saw nothing visibly wrong and told me she just needed her teeth cleaned. Dr. Darnell actually listened to my concerns, did x-rays and found major internal cavities that were inside her teeth (not visible when doing a regular exam) that could eventually lead to bone infection and massive bone loss. Turns out my baby also suffers from severe juvenile periodontitis. I am beyond thankful to Dr. Darnell for being such an incredible vet and wonderful person. I would not take my fur babies anywhere else. So, if you're looking for a vet who is talented at what she does, and is passionate about genuinely caring for our fur babies, go see Dr. Darnell of Shelter Island Vet Hospital. You will be very glad you did.

I am not sure. My dog which was a rescue had a pretty good sized bill. I would take the dog in and ask them to do an estimate. They did with me .
