I was turned off at the crying, the cracking of voices during a fast and testimony meeting. Is it necessary to distort your face while fasting? Act normal and be joyful. This is one of those things I dislike about fast and testimony meetings is the acting some put on in front of the congregation. I was reminded thus during such a meeting when Jesus said, “Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” Matthew 6:16 I fast but I keep my fasting private from people.

You are welcome and wanted here. I would encourage anyone who is searching for the truth to attend and then pray and ask Heavenly Father to know if this is where you need to be. I've done that for myself and I know without a doubt that this church is true.
