My mom moved in here recently and so far everything is great. The pool and hot tub are great and always clean. The unit itself had all new appliances and cabinets and the ceiling fans are super nice. The AC unit is just a wall unit but does the job and has a remote which is nice. But with the fans you don’t need it much which is great. I found the apartment online and talked to someone and got the info and we decided to move forward with it. Which was super easy to apply for and got approved quickly. I drove down from Irvine and paid the move in fees before my mom came and had no issue and staff was friendly and attentive. The building itself is on the older side. But we have no issues. Elevators work and apartment is quiet (don’t hear neighbors). Laundry room works great also. Building has plenty of parking and the area is very walkable which is great. A ton of restaurants and fast food all within walking distance and two grocery stores right next door. My mom uses her cart and gets her stuff and never even needs to drive anywhere. Only utility she pays for is electric and rates are good and her bills are pretty low. We went with AT&T for internet after Cox failed and were not helpful. Her balcony is large and she likes to sit out there and watch the hummingbirds. I will note the kitchen is tiny. But for one person who doesn’t cook much it is fine. The oven is a half oven which is perfect for her and gives more counter space. Overall she loves the apartment and the area is so nice and clean so walkable. I am so glad we found this place. Also. One nice surprise when we moved in turns out you also get this large closet (located outside of the apartment) for storing stuff in. Which was such a nice bonus and my mom can keep her extra stuff out there which saved a lot of space in the unit.

If you are looking for a home where the Management team treats the residents with common courtesy, keep on looking! They are proud to claim they have “resort style living” keep on looking. I have lived here 3 years and until recently, I have never had to approach or deal with management with the exception of lease renewal. California was “opened” 6/15. On 6/16 , on site Management posted a notice saying that they were excited to reopen the amenities. The notice then lined out the “new” hours for all amenities 9-4:30 MON-FRI (pre virus the hours were 8-10 PM SEVEN DAYS A WEEK!). The notice ended with “if you have any questions please contact Management directly. So…I did. I contacted John King in the front office and asked him what the reason was for the reduced hours. I asked him to explain to me why the amenities were now limited. I got an obviously scripted answer, “That’s all that corporate will tell us”. During the short conversation I tried to understand what the logic was behind this decision and I got the same answer 2 more times. Granted, I’m sure John was very frustrated with the situation as there are three hundred residents here, many of them very frustrated, and I guess he is the “fall guy”. So, I called RA SNYDER, ( the management company ) and spoke with Tammy Bailey. I posed the same question to her. I began the conversation in a civil manner, hoping for a reasonable explanation. Instead I found myself in a surprisingly heated conversation with this woman. She was rude, confrontational and totally unprofessional. After she really ticked me off, I will admit, I probably wasn’t at my best either. Regardless, below are some of the statements she made… and she WAS yelling at me. “We thought everyone would be happy that we were offering the amenities again! Instead all we are getting is complaints” “We don’t have to offer any amenities, I am ready to just fill those pools in!” I pointed out that people who work, have NO access to the amenities, and people enjoy using the pool in the evenings and especially on the weekends. Currently, the pool is CLOSED THE ENTIRE WEEKEND FROM FRI @ 4:30 until MONDAY @ 9AM. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY GUESTS. When I pressed for an explanation, she barked at me “you don’t understand liability issues” I explained to this woman that I and my family have owned apt bldgs (in other areas) for over 30 years, I know all about liability insurance on apt buildings. I commented that the amenities coincided with the on site management hours and not the residents hours. I pointed out that liability insurance does not have restricted days or hours, it is a 24/7 policy. I guess I backed her into a corner because she SNAPPED. She didn’t hear a word I said after that. Her final SCREAM to me was… “If you are so unhappy I will let you out of your lease so you can go live some place where you can swim whenever you want” They boast “Resort Style Living”. But that is a joke, don’t buy into it. In the past 3 years I have paid them over fourty thousand dollars in rent and up to this point I have never confronted them with any issues, nor have I caused any problems. There is no reason for a professional business to be treat me, or anyone else this way. In closing, if you notice that there are a few 5 star ratings on the web, don’t be fooled, 3 of them came from management! One from Tammy, one from John and one from the security guard!I am guessing they will remove those reviews now that they exposed. These people definitely need to get over themselves and sign up for INTENSE CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING!

UPDATE 3/21 was a 1 star but now wow they made me a believer. Please read the whole review. Things happen in life things fall thru the crack.Mine did ...but within 24hrs of notifying them.I got such an overwhelming thoughtful apology from the Management &crew. It really touched my heart lm"ike me this little person in such a big world got acknowledged "I found out that this is who they are!!!They made a mistake and fixed it.... See I know because my sister lives here and her apartment is everything she hoped for. This is who they really are. Everything has been taken care of and they apologized I don't know about you but most Management companies I hv dealt with really never cared or blew me off dragging their feet.My review has changed .."IT IS MY FOREVER HOME".I hvnt had my OWN apartment in 30yrs and now I'm home&safety matters"they walk the halls and monitor the parking.Safety is a priority and the homey feeling we all want..My neighbors say Hello everyday day. So if your living somewhere else come on over to Casa Escondido and find your forever home too. To whom it may concern.I moved in on March 15th.I expected to have my OWN home.To my surprise my apartment has not even got close to meet my expectations 1)My heater didn't work.It was replaced 2)My dishwasher is leaking onto my floor 3)My stove is riddled with rust inside hidden under the coils very unsafe So I hvnt been able to even make my 1st home cooked meal in my "NEW home 4)I asked about getting an awing.Even offered to pay I was told you give them to each resident.I was so thrilled but its not there. 5)Garbage disposal is broken. So you can understand my disappointment that noone took the time to ensure not only my safety but my confort.I lived up to our deal and I hope this will be quickly remedy. Sincerely Your new tenent....

Valerie was amazing! She took the time to walk me through the complex on a hot and humid day and answered all of my questions. She was kind, thoughtful and compassionate. I haven't moved in yet but I'm looking forward to it and will update my review after I take possession. RA Snyder found a gem when they hired Valerie!!!!!
