Thie department of building will 90% of the time will never answer their line after being transferred from planning personel. havent responded to messages left everyday in their voicemail in over a week, you gotta beg these lazy public servants to do their job when they please, if they please. Typical description of a bureaucratic, unsupervised, neglected, incompetent, unqualifief, department. People shouldn't pay taxes for this kind of 3rd world department.

If your property was part of a development or was surveyed at some point in the last several decades, you will notice small metal disks on the sidewalk, curb, or elsewhere. They look like this: https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2013/mar/20/straight-metal-sidewalk-markers/ Those physical markers correspond to symbols on the official plat maps held by the County - they will tell you where your property lines are. If there is no recent record of survey or if the markers were disturbed at some point, the only way to get exact location is to have a Surveyor survey the property. You're looking at several thousand dollars. Good luck!
