We visited friends and Denver and heard great things about the view of this hiking attraction and it didn’t disappoint. Recommend getting there early (before 9:30am) to increase your chances of getting a parking spot and able to leave before the parking lot chaos starts. The hike itself was pretty moderate it’s just more difficult if someone never exercises typically and if they’re not used to the higher altitude thinner air. I would definitely return next time I’m visiting the mile-high city

Parked in the car park for $5 and then a short walk along the road before starting the upward hike. It's 20-30 mins walk through forest over rubble before you get to the lake. Stunning views when you get there. Can continue up to the Glacier for even better views. Great hike, good for families and a highlight of our trip.

Want some summer skiing? Saint Mary’s glacier still has snow! Short hike in and lots of fun. You might even run into a keg of beer in the lake so be nice to everyone. They might just offer you a beer.

I was struggling on the hike, however, it is shorter than other hikes. Bring water and food as there's nothing super close. But the views are absolutely worth it.

I think you can backpack in. I don't know about parking overnight in the pay lot. There appear to be camp spots on the road up.
