Like many people, we had the internet satellite dish and it was better than what we had before. We couldn't stream movies or upload video to any degree, but I knew about Warp 2 (now ComPair) from neighbors. Unfortunately we had trees in the way. Fast forward and PG&E took down some trees. That didn't solve my problem, but it gave me the idea to set a mast pole at the street with a view of Bear Mountain. That did it. ComPair set a radio receiver on my mast and I ran some conduit and ethernet cable into the house. It's not rocket science and you can buy the stuff on Amazon. They do the rest or run the cable for you. So now, we can stream movies (free) from Prime (Amazon we pay for already) and anything else you want to pay for. The speed is snappy and there is no buffering (stopping and starting). Our internet is FAST; like in- town fast. You need a clear line-of-site view of their transmitter on Bear Mountain, but think outside of the box for your receiver location. Good luck!

This company just took over my Internet from the previous provider I had. Their phone number does not even work... trying to reach them to discuss my contract and impossible to even reach anyone. UPDATE: after many calls i finally got through to them, i asked about this and it sounds like they just dont have call waiting and so you get a busy tone if they are on the phone......

Let’s start with the fact this is rural internet it’s not city internet and yes we would all like to live in a rural area and keep the big city perks but you can’t have both. I’ve had compair service for 9 years and I’ve had my problems but they have always responded to address it. You don’t want to try the competition because there worse trust me I know many who have tried. If you’re not getting what you pay for call the office. If you want faster internet move back to the city.

It's extremely expensive. 3mbps for $50/mo, 10mbps for $100/mo. Customer Service is exceptionally kind and helpful. Technical Support is either dishonest or incompetent however I cannot determine which. Multiple other customers have speculated that they oversell their bandwidth in my area, though I cannot currently confirm this. They are, LITERALLY, the only game in town....in many towns...
