If your in town and want to see the Sacramento River up close? Check out Anderson River Park. Nicely maintained and clean facilities. Nice Splash pad and playgrounds for the kiddies and nice doggie parks as well. Theres a nice wildlife rehabilitation center and picnic tables to rest on as well as to reserve for special occasions. Theres frisbee golf and lots of wildlife to enjoy or even take the kiddos fishing off of the doc at the duck pond. And during summer evenings.Theres the Mosquito serenades. Great music, Great food and lots of relaxin. This is a sunset picture looking west on the edge of the Sacramento River at Anderson River Park.

There were ticks on every blade of grass (just about). It was horrifying. I do love the work they did out there though.

Visited for my sons High School graduation. Park looked beautiful. Very well manicured. Clean. Plenty of parking. Only downfall was they were mowing the lawn over by the play area which was slightly distracting. Could have chosen a different time as I’m sure the school reserved the amphitheater well in advance, leaving plenty of time to plan maintenance activities around the graduation. Personal opinion. Other than that hiccup, it was pretty perfect.

It is just past the river view on the right, before the Kids Park
Yes, there's alot of "roads" that go around the river and through the park. Most are wide enough for bikes, cars and people walking.
Across the street from the disc golf course parking lot.
I don't think I have ever seen anyone swimming there now that you mention it. I will look around next time I go.
There was one on last Wednesday night. I can hear it from my house!
Carp catfish

Weve had family get togethers there for years! Always has ended up being perfect location!! Honestly we just went there early and set up...but I would think you could reserve through Parks and Recreation...hope your family experience is as wonderful as ours ALWAYS was at that area!!! Great memories...last get together was last summer!!
There is 2 entrances but there is no cost u less you want to reserve a spot lol
You can fish for trout year round. Steelhead is October through mid February. Salmon starts in July.
There have been terrible crimes in Anderson River Park. A young man was beaten to death by the boat ramp and now is remembered by the huge happy face and the dedicated bench. R I P.
