Great boat ride with close views of Atlantic Puffins, Black Guillemot, Terns, Harbor Porpoise and more. Comfortable ride on 8/1/22 and a memorable experience. Definitely worth it. Bring binoculars!

Puffin Cruise: The overall experience was a good, it was a beautiful day, we did see a fair amount of puffins, and other seaside creatures, such as porpoises, harbor seals, and even a few sunfish basking in the noonday sun. This is not to mention various seabirds to numerous to mention. The cruise provided a naturalist who gave us a primer on what we could see for bird life on the way out. These are all mentioned as positives experiences. Parking is not ideal but knowing small Maine towns this is not held against Hardy. It is about a five minute walk plus or minus depending on your health and walking speed. There is a $20 fee to park, they do take credit / debit cards. Note anyone with walking issues, it is downhill to the launch, from the parking lot, and uphill for the return trip; otherwise I would rate it an easy walk. The main negative is once we got out to the island (Egg Rock) only one side of the boat saw the island. I was sitting on the reverse side of the boat and often had people blocking my view. We had a group of four, thoughts were mixed with some enjoying and at least half feeling once was enough, they would not do this again. Overall Hardy did a great job and I was close to giving four stars as most experiences were positive, but considering the cost, turning the boat at some point would have made a much more enjoyable experience. This may have been a fluke

Totally worth it! Bring $20 for parking and if you have a group, have the driver drop you all off at the dock and then go back up to the parking lot. It’s a bit of a walk. We saw all types of birds and even some harbor seals. It was educational and enjoyable. We took a 9, 13, and 17 year old plus our parents. Sitting in the top deck was awesome. However I’m sure the bottom deck was just fine. It prob was a bit warmer and had a little less sway. I highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I booked a 1.5 hour Puffin Cruise in New Harbor, Maine in the latter part of June. The weather was perfect and the cruise left on time. The crew was so very helpful and personable throughout the trip, from pointing out sites to becoming as excited as the guests to see the adorable puffins. We saw an enormous amount of sea birds—as well as lots of puffins. They flew all around the boat and the crew pointed out birds using an easy system to help everyone see them. We even saw 2 seals out near Eastern Egg Rock by the Puffins and then near the boat! There were so many puffins flying and “rafting” every person had multiple opportunities to see the birds no matter where seated. I only wish I had binoculars and a great camera as the phone camera didn’t really get the best pictures!

If you are headed to Monhegan, you can buy tickets going each way. Could buy for the same day, or head out one day and come back another day. They weren't selling as "round trip" so you would need to book 2 tickets.... Unless you have another way off the island.
They were extremely attentive to social distancung
They have a website, but it's $38 per person round trip using the Hardy boat. You board at Shaw's lobster restaurant on route 32.. Enjoy!!
I believe it runs Sunday Not monday but please clarify with the monhegan hardy boat schedule on line.
You should be able to wait until 2019 to make reservations, but it wouldn't hurt to call Hardy Boat to find the best time for your trip.
Round trip to Monhegan is $38
