Place is a jail . Its supposed to be a place where they treat you like adults but they treat you like a kid. Cant even work when your here to earn some money on the side and when u leave they only give u like 600 like it supposed to help u set you up for life but doesn't.

this place is decent if you focus and get done , but I would not recommend going until they uplift the guidelines, food good if you have a 2 certain cooks black and Asian. But stay virtual until they uplift guidelines

I submitted an application on March 27th and it is now May and still haven't heard a thing from this Tampa. It's absolutely ridiculous. I have left numerous voicemails on different people's machine and still no answer. I just spoke to a manager at the Jacksonville office, Sherry Hopper or Hooper, not 100% sure and she was very apologetic and explained why this is occurring. I get what she said but I still feel some kind of way about this. Very disappointed in this office and their professionalism. FYI I tried giving no stars but It wouldn't let me post this.

Did you ever figure it out ?
Do they pay well?

Yes
There is a good bit of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment and fighting.
Yes you can. And they can come on weekends and holiday breaks.
Yes
Contact them and they'll get you in touch with the school or location that handles mechanics classes. 👍😉
No
Your not supposed to just get your diploma there, your supposed to get a certification in your trade as well so i recommend you dont tell them you just plan on getting your diploma and just leave once you've aquired it, like i said it depends on how many credits you have if any.
Yes there's wifi, its off during the day and on after classes.
Medical. And hard trades. MBC CNA CMA Pharm Tech Electrical Facility maintenance Carpentry and Plumbing
Come or call center ask to speak to and admission counselor.Should be able to answer your questions.
Call 800.733.JOBS & tell them you need to speak to a recruiter for Cascades Job Corps. If you tell them you live in Florida, they will probably transfer your call here. Tell them you are going to be in the area nearest Cascade. Or you could google the center number and ask for an admissions counselor. You are making a good choice. Good luck!
Yes , they have a campus on the premises.
I heard they brought back only a few students but they are doing online classes but still go up and ask
Yes
Yes
Depends on what the court fines are for and your age. If you're between 18-24 they will accept you however if you're a felon they most likely won't accept you
If you get accepted, during your first few days you will spend your time getting check-ups and you will be drug tested and if you test positive you will be put on a program called TEAP and you will be given a water bottle and encouraged to exercise to sweat it out of your system. You will then be given another drug test after about a month and if you fail that one you will then be kicked out.
It depends on the item and who's breaking it, if it's a personal item no, and if it's broken by a staff member most likely they will have to replace it. But usually no, you can tell a staff member that someone broke your stuff to see what can be done but usually you will have to replace it yourself.

1. The GED program is a computer class and can be done in as little as a week, it's a self-paced course. So it depends on you and your work ethic. 2. There is WiFi, it is turned off during the training day and turns on after dismissal. During the weekends it's on all day and all night. 3. Yes they have soda, But only in the vending machines. In the cafeteria there are plenty of options of different juices and tea and water to choose from. 4. Adult students are allowed to leave campus, you get a phase card that will tell you when and the times you need to be back by. For example if you have a green phase card, or known as the employee phase card, you can only leave on Tuesdays at 4:30 and must be back on campus by 8pm. You can also leave friday, Saturday, and Sunday but at different times. 5. There are holiday breaks, sometimes during breaks that are normally a day or two they try to extend the break two at least a week so people can leave campus.
I was told you can that you have to do all this paperwork as to why. Then board of Job Corp decide as to if they allow or not. I asked my admission couslor.
To get accepted it depends on you, your admission counselor and when they have open spots. It could take anywhere from a few days to months. Uniforms - Yes, depending on which trade you use, you will be given different colored scrubs and white shoes for medical trades and different colored shirts and shoes with a belt for hard trades. Dorms are sorted according to trade or currently in the process of being sorted by trade, but there are a few exceptions to that rule, like people that have been here for a while. The food here is Cisco food, it's not the best but it is edible and will fill you up, but when you stay here for a while you are able to receive a card that lets you go off campus and you can buy snacks or order food with the small paycheck you get bi-weekly.
No
There are a few in Washington DC but none in Florida that I know of.
No they dont if you want to come with your child. If you live in st pete and have daycare you can be a non res student
No
If you live in st pete you can be a no resident student. As for seeing your boyfriend, if you are a resident and adult you can leave on weekends
Multiple locations across the United States each one for a different specialties. Only one here in Tampa. Find out more here. https://www.jobcorps.gov 😉👍
They have Admission counselors all over. You can deal with one of them.
It really depends on bed space as to how long until you come to center. And yes everyone tabes.
New kids come in every week, so as for how long it takes you to start.. Not that long, they process your papers and once a bed in the trade you picked opens up you get in.
Ask your counselor. 👍😉
All depends on the trade and if you need your highschool diploma. It also depends on you and how hard your willing to work.
It really depends. No your not allowed to gave sex or make out. But holding hands and hugs are ok. But honestly if your going there for a relationship then you've missed the point of the program.
No for a non resident student you have to live in st petersburg. As per your second question yes you get a bus pass weekly.
If you are a minor you cant leave campus unless they request and parent has to okay it. Only people that parent authorized can pick them up.
They do try to kick everyone put for Christmas if they arent previously homeless.
Yes, yes and probably no.
You're required to at least get your GED. I think they might offer a full diploma also. You'll have to ask them about that. 😀
Yes, my daughter is enrolled there. They work with you every step of the way. They also set up interviews and help you get jobs before you leave.
Yes, you get paid for doing work while in School or training. 😉
If you live on campus no job. Only on the weekends. If you need to work non resident is the way to go. But if you was to live in campus you will want to start you paperwork cause there is a waiting list
I think 24 is the cutoff age. But I'm not sure. You should call the main office.
You better contact them about that.
One of the more modern centers.....Good center to learn a trade, meet new people, and graduate from.
Living costs to stay on campus is free but that means you have to stay on campus throughout the week until the weekend then you can leave but you have to be back before curfew on Sunday. If you dont like that then you can live off center if you can get a ride to the center everyday because you will not be allowed to live there if your a non resident, and yes phones are allowed just not in the classrooms
No
It all depends on if you have any credits, GED is a faster route
Its a week long class in the class you'll watch instructional videos and answer 80 questions in the back of the drivers ed book after that the instructor will take you to the DMV to get your permit and once you have obtained your learners permit he'll take you driving and once you have enough driving hours he'll then take you to get your lisence
Your Counselor can give you job leads to Companies......And I believe there are students working at Restuarants
I don't think so but you can ask.
No
Yes, they do.
Yes
Yes, degree is for a trade. Not really a degree.
I think there are designated smoking areas but not sure. Minors go to school there so maybe not.
