I cannot recommend Dogwood enough! My husband and I recently found an abandoned kitten who was going to be dropped off at a shelter before we decided to take him home. We wanted to get him another kitten to grow up with since he was found alone with no littermates, and the people at Dogwood were so incredibly helpful in connecting us with a perfect litter of kittens to pick out his new friend. The foster parents are so wonderful and really get to know their foster pets extremely well. It was great getting to meet the litter and chat to the foster parents a few times to really make sure we found the right kitten to add to our family. Our boys finally met today and got to play and wrestle and feel each other out, and I am so grateful to Dogwood for everything they did so we could complete our family. (Our found kitten, Flash, is orange, and his new pal Inigo Montoya aka Monty formerly Kevin is grey with some white features.)

I have been talking with Charolette via email about a cat who was abandoned in the streets. She has been so very giving of her time and has shared some great resources with me? Charolette and Dogwood Animal Rescue Project truly care about those pets, these precious animals whom are truly in need. I am grateful to Charolette and Dogwood Animal Rescue Project for all that they do to save these pets and to give them a voice and a chance at the loving life they so richly deserve. Thanks to Dogwood Animal Rescue Project The cat mentioned above was able to receive much needed medical care. These people, including but not limited to Beth and Karen & all at Dogwood Animal Rescue are truly devoted to animals in need. They have gone over, above and beyond to help as many animals as possible including Peaches the cat left out in the streets. Many thanks to all!

There's a process, fill out paper work/questionnaire, then you'll be on a waiting list. When they have room they'll take him/ her in. Give'em a call, and they'll walk you through it.
Hello Adam: All of our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered. We have an animal overpopulation crisis and everyday animals lose their lives in overcrowded shelters because they aren't enough homes to take them while some people continue to let their animals' breed. Please consider not breeding and just adopt a sweet dog and love him/her forever. Thank you :-)
Hi Olivia, follow this link for fee schedule. Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. https://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption/
Hello Dorothy, Doogie and MaryJo have an adoption pending, thank you for your inquiry.

Hi Ale, it depends on the age of the dog. Here is a link: https://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption/
Willow's DNA came back as Shepherd/husky with a little wolf, making her what is called a low content wolfdog. She’s about 8 months old and like many northern breeds and youngsters in general, she can be a handful. Energetic and sometimes willful, escape prone and predatory, she proved to be more than her loving adopters could handle. She’s friendly with people and appropriately playful and submissive with other dogs. She finds great delight in chasing cats but might be able to live with a savvy cat and good management. In interested, the first step is completing an application: https://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/
Your application is with the Adoption Team for their review and processing. Give us a couple of days, at least. We know how anxious you are, but they'll be in touch soon.
We don't have an animal shelter, all of the animals are in our homes. We are mostly volunteers, good luck in your job search, Katelyn!
I suggest that you look at our website at Dogwood animal rescue Project to see the list of available dogs ready for adoption. If you see one you would like to meet then fill out the adoption application. Good luck Thank you
Thank you. Our animals are all in foster homes which is so much better for them than a shelter. Yes we are always accepting volunteers. Just go to Dogwood Animal Rescue Project and fill out an application to volunteer. There are many different ways to volunteer. My daughter has been helping since she was 12 years old. We foster in our home and she has learned so much. It also was accepted by her school requirement for community service. Good luck and thank you for inquiring. Barbara
