Chicken ‘n dumplings are always good. Ask for more broth. Turnip greens tasty. Remove the “stems” & they will be delicious. Okra favorite. Most of the time greasy. Must have hot oil. We get biscuits so the dog can bury them. The coco-cola cake is worth every penny.

Forgot my ranch and got half of my chicken tender order upon serving... Brought the 3 tenders that completed the order about 10 minutes later and they were Definitely fresher than the ones on the first served plate. Dining partner had 2 sides. Portions were so much smaller than the Hickory location where we usually go... Won't go back. Was told by a small business owner on the way home when we stopped to get gas, that location was going to be closed/shut down. I see why now. Won't go back if they're still there when visiting Boone Again. Very disappointing and definitely not worth 35$ considering portion size and chicken tender freshness.

The chef came out and talked with us. Very impressive! Super good food. Both kids are EVERYTHING they ordered! 😲 Yup! We really had a good time. Thank you for making our experience great.

I was dragged to this Cracker Barrel for a lunch meeting. They were busy but the server hustled and kept our tea glasses filled. Everything was okay until they brought the food out. I ordered the fried chicken with the idea of leftovers for the next day's lunch. The chicken was just shy of burnt when it finally got to the table. I asked the server if it always came out that dark and she said "pretty much". So, I tried a piece. It was awful. The skin was dry and chewy. Salt was the only flavor I could discern. I'm attaching a photo of the remaining pieces. The turnip greens were also very salty. I can report that the pinto beans were good. The person I was eating lunch with had the same problem. It's disappointing. Cracker Barrel used to have really good food. If I have to go back again, I may stick with only the pinto beans. It's pretty hard to mess that up.
