Wow! anyone giving this campground a good review has quite obviously never camped in a "Nice Campground". We had planned on staying 7-10 days while visiting family in the area, but left after just three days. Firstly, the place is nothing more than a large parking lot with hookups. No amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, or bath house. The Wi-Fi is almost unusable, tested at an unstable speed of 1.5-2mbps. Something as simple as checking emails was slower than dial-up, so we used our phones for such tasks. After the first day, our equipment was filthy; due to the dust raised by the disrespectful residents speeding through on the dirt/gravel roads. There are signs posted telling folks to drive at speeds as to not raise dust, but are ignored. And there are no security patrols to enforce any such rules! Foremost was the fact that we did not feel safe. We noticed a lot of semi-permanent campers/construction workers?, even though we were told that the maximum stay was two weeks. And with that, we noticed a lot of outsider vehicle traffic throughout the campground at all hours. Even though Jordan Lake State Park is much farther from our family, we have moved here and what a difference! We will NEVER stay at the fairgrounds again! Oh, and keep in mind that most of the good reviews here are for the State Fair, not the campground.

We had a blast ! My husband, both daughters , their husbands, 4 grandsons, oldest ones girlfriend & my great nephew were there. We ate nachos, popcorn, pretzels, burgers. The barrel racing was fun, bull riding was seat clinching! We've been coming to the Rodeo for years & we will be coming back! Thanks for a great time!

Easy to get to, great place to stay especially if you're going to an event at PNC arena. The arena is within walking distance so you don't need to pay for parking. 🙂

Easy to find, convenient to most everything, and reasonably priced at $30...this campground served as a great overnight stop on our way to Cape Hatteras. We recommend if you just need a stop with full hookups. The staff is helpful and make the area secure. Nothing special.

Yes, they are. There's not an enclosed area such as a bark park, but they're part friendly.
We did see a van with a tent while we were there, so I'd assume yes but call them. However, there are no restroom facilities in the main RV park. Not sure about the horse campground area.
No
They are only closed for the month of October for their State Fair.
Gates open at 7, but most exhibits, rides and food carts aren't open yet. Church restaurants are.
