JLAD is a small non-profit organization that takes pride in their work. Joy is a natural when it comes to training dogs as well as teaching people in the Owner Trained program. JLAD also has an awesome therapy program where you get to train your own dog to participate in community service.

Their professional training model and ADI standards incorporated with many years experience provides a level of team training beyond what I had imagined. Joy and her trainers welcomed us and even through the challenges of a pandemic provided training methods safely and effectively. Thank you for giving me a blessing of independence through teamwork with my SD.

Called to ask about their program and their reception was downright disgusting. I am autistic and in a wheelchair and live on the streets but I called to see if they could help me train my SD Daisy and they treated me terribly. Even if I could possibly afford to go there. Don’t. They are rude.

Joy and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to their craft. I'm currently participating in the owner trained dog program, and can say that the is no substitute for the experienced eye of someone like Joy. You simply can't gather from videos and books what she can convey in person by watching and teaching.

Questions & Answers

I have a neighbor that just lost her beloved pet. She's deaf and looking for a new companion. Do you help with that or have info on what she can do?

She could apply for a career change dog. They are dogs that are trained but for one reason or other can not be a service dog. Although we will not have any career change dogs until next year but the sooner she gets in an application the better.

How much do you have to fundraise before getting your mobility service dog?

We don't ask that you fundraise, our dogs are $9875.00 once that is paid you are in line for a dog.
