We had been going here for years before the pandemic and were most excited to eat here on our return. This trip was so disappointing. They were out of clam chowder so this review is based on the other food we got though I hope the chowder is still amazing. The breading on the shrimp, calamari, and fish was not executed well. The hard crunchy additives (not even sure what it is) to the breading is not tasty, adds no benefit or flavor, just hard bits to crunch on. The seafood should be able to speak for itself, instead we were obsessed with trying to figure out what those hard pieces were in the cover.

We bought whole, cooked, and cleaned Dungeness crab here twice during our 6 day stay in Newport, OR. Friendly service and scrumptious tasting crab!

Moondance Ranch

Very little variety available. VERY EXPENSIVE. Counter help was rude and not friendly or helpful. The shrimp was previously frozen, from Mexico and very mushy.

Pretty good, but small portions. The "bowl" of clam chowder was about 1.5 cups. It was the consistency of gravy, which I think is common in Oregon, but very tasty and lots of clams. The crab melt was fabulous with lots of crab.
