Called 911 and within 10 minutes, fire dept came, followed shortly after by AMR. Tamara & 2 other guys with AMR were very compassionate. Got me to hospital trying not to hit potholes! Tamra even staying with me until I could be seen in ER.

If I could I would give this minus stars. I have called the company after my bad experience and was assured it would be looked into and they would get back to me. I want accountability on how it all could go so wrong and how they did not care or do anything to make it better. I don't want this to happen to anyone else!!! I recently had surgery on ll/13/2020 and needed a ride home from the surgical center at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane WA.. as required by the anesthesiologist. I did not have a ride so they made arrangements for AMR to take me home. I was in the recovery area and had just woke up and the nurse informed me AMR was scheduled to pick me up at 3 PM so we had to hurry and get me dressed so I would be ready for them to pick me up. I was escorted to a chair to wait for the ride home. I called my father and let him know they would be picking me up at 3 pm and I would be home shortly. Well. 3:00pm came and went. 4:00pm came and went. There was no attempt by AMR to reach out and let me know they were running late. The nursing staff called AMR and they said they were tied up with another patient and would be there soon. I am sitting in a very uncomfortable chair, I have had no food since 6:00pm the previous night with the exception of the small cup of apple sauce they gave me after surgery. I have a very sore throat from the anesthetic, I have a head ache and am just plain uncomfortable. My darling 96 year old father is waiting for me and very worried because I haven't showed up. It is now 5:00pm and the staff calls AMR again and they will be there soon. I call and reassure my father I should be there soon. I am so miserable from sitting in a chair after just having surgery. It is now 6:00pm and my father calls. He is worried about me sitting there for so long. So am I. The staff calls AMR again...they will be there soon. At about 6:30pm (over 3.5 hours in that chair) I told the nurse I am leaving which is totally against protocol because I have just had anesthesia and they don't trust me with a Lyft driver but do trust me with a service that leaves you for 4 hours sitting in a chair after surgery. I did not need "medical" aid for the ride home ....I just needed a ride home. As I was trying to leave they got ahold of AMR again and I was told they were in the parking lot wresting the wheel chair out of the van. Quite a bit later as I was walking to the elevator the driver shows up. He has his mask below his nose. I am tired, feeling very sick and just want to go home. My poor father who just lost my mom is worried to death about me. I asked the man to cover his nose and was finally going home. I SAT IN A CHAIR FOR OVER 4 HOURS WAITING FOR A RIDE THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THERE AT 3PM AND GOT THERE AT 7PM. At no time did AMR reach out to explain what was going on and at no time did they make any effort to make alternate arrangements. By the time I got to my fathers it was almost 8PM. What transportation business lets a patient sit 4 hours in a chair after they have had surgery? I have reached out to the company this morning and am waiting for a response. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. It is unconscionable to treat someone like they treated me. It is 12/4/2020 and I am still waiting for a response and accountability for this.

I called for an ambulance for my wife who was experiencing symptoms of a heart problem. The ambulance arrived quickly, (one star). They loaded her up and I met her at the ER. During the trip she was scolded by the ambulance driver and made to feel foolish for taking trip by ambulance. She was asked " why didn't you just go see your doctor?" Well its beyond me why anyone would feel it necessary to act that way to someone who is already stressed and in pain. I really feel this driver should shut up and drive. Let's leave the medical advice to the doctors and nurses at the hospital.

Update: Lori and Linda, the local gals with AMR are wonderful! I will give them both 5 stars for quickly working to help me resolve this fiasco. Hopefully, with their continued help, we can close this sooner rather than later! If I could give less than one star I certainly would! We were transported by AMR after an accident. The bus guys were great and I have no complaints.THEY deserve 10 stars. However, the billing department leaves much to be desired. AR did not use the address or insurance provided at the date of services but chose to use an address from 15 years ago because it was in their system...because that is probably more accurate then the address I give at the time of service or the address that my HUSBAND gives at the time of services? I did receive a bill for my husband at the correct address but then had to submit the insurance information three times including the date of service, by mail on the back of the initial billing, and finally again online. It took more than two months for the insurance to be billed for my husband ONLY. I still have not received a bill for my services nor has it been submitted to insurance though I have received a collection call. I have also requested the medical records and billing information four times using their required venue so I can submit it myself. Still haven't received that information either. I have now made three phone calls for my account and I'm no closer to having this resolved. I have filed a complaint with the hospital and contacted their patient advocate. The funny part about all of this is that the bill will be covered 100% by insurance. This has been a ridiculous nightmare with no end in sight. For a representative of AMR that may decide to reach out, if there is any doubt, I have names, notes, dates and times of who I have talked to, what has been discussed and exactly where your representative dropped the ball. So the long and the short of it for anyone having received services: simply follow-up IMMEDIATELY! The billing department is incapable of providing any kind of competent services. You're taking a HUGE risk if you choose to let them handle it.

Questions & Answers

Do you have medical transport from Spokane Wa to Seattle Wa? If so so what is the cost?

Donna Rex | Aug 20, 2018
Christie Anderson | Aug 20, 2018

Yes, that service is available. The cost would depend on many factors such as medical necessity to be in an ambulance vs. a private vehicle, insurance and/or Medicare status, and the purpose for the trip. You can call dispatch st 509-323-8888 and they can give you a price quote for private pay and discuss your options for transport. The fee is a base rate plus mileage so it can vary depending on the exact distance.

Do you still have street directories like you did in the 90's?
