My PhD weight loss experience has been so empowering! I put on a lot of extra weight when I had children, and in the 25 years since then I have not been able to take that weight off. I have tried exercise and other diet programs, but nothing worked. PhD Weight Loss not only helped me finally lose that weight, but perhaps even more importantly, it gave me a new relationship to food. I no longer feel controlled by food. I don't feel that constant shame and guilt that perhaps I ate something I shouldn't have. I am in charge and it's a great feeing! I am so grateful for this program.

If you have tried it all and find yourself back to square one in the arena of weight loss and dieting, get a consult here. My wife, Tiz, and I found PHD in the fall of 2020 through a good friend. We wanted to do something happy and positive in the middle of a pandemic and boy, did we! We did the program through PHD‘s Nationwide division before there was a Charlotte location. With our coach’s incredible encouragement and expertise, the extensive nutritional education (which taught us the balance and timing of good protein, key dietary fats, carb tolerance and hydration), PHD’s easy-to-use and tasty foods for 4 of the 5 meals per day and OUR commitment to ourselves to reach the optimal weight goals, we were incredibly successful. The program was absolutely life changing and eye-opening. We just know how to eat now - for the rest of our lives! The biggest irony and bonus is that Tiz went from being a professional baker (owner of Tizzerts for 26+ years!) to working for Dr. Lucas in the Charlotte location. She is coaching clients, and doing special projects, including some fun foodie demos with healthy, PHD-approved recipes. I would highly recommend PHD and their savvy teams if you want to become the healthiest you and extend your life expectancy!!

We lose weight by shifting the metabolism so that the body can burn fat for fuel. This is a natural process but requires a shift in what we eat and when we eat it. When we do this successfully we can drop weight without harming our metabolism and increase long term maintenance success.

Tracking calories to lose weight is actually not an effective weight loss tool. The body is much more complicated than calories in and calories out. Rather than counting calories, shift the way that you eat so that your body can burn fat for fuel. You will find that hunger and cravings disappear while quick and easy weight loss takes its place.

We do offer weight management support through tailored meal plans, customized support, accountability and coaching. Through our program we also support Type 2 Diabetes remission, reduction of high blood pressure and excel in sports nutrition guidance. We provide free maintenance for life support as well. PHD provides up to 85% of your daily foods at no additional cost if you choose to use our foods. If you prefer to use all of your own foods, you may do so and we will support you along that path.
