Upon arriving at the hotel to check in, the credit card machine at the front desk did not work properly, it took nearly 5 attempt to accept my card (Issue not with my card, had been used all day up to this point). The pool and hot tub had not been cleaned for some time. The room was overall pretty clean aside from a drawer that still had trash from a previous guest and a shower curtain that looked as though it has seen a few to many showers. Aside from that the hotel had pretty standard rooms and a nice breakfast each morning.

Check-in was good, also cleanliness, but I was sad to find the bottle of shower gel fe-filled with a different product (no9t J.R. Watkins Aloe and green tea) and also the body lotion was a totally different brand. Next morning breakfast was going well until we were surprised by not finding the iconic cinnamon roll. There was a replacement but its quality was by far short from the traditional HIExpress rolls.

*UPDATE: it has been nearly a month since our stay. We're repeatedly promised someone will get back to us to settle the DOUBLE charges. No one returns calls. No one reverses charges, despite being told they would and having a case number to do so.* We made reservations and paid through an online third party (Priceline). When we checked in, the clerk asked for a credit card for incidentals only. After we checked out that morning and left town, later that day we were charged a SECOND TIME for the same night, essentially charging us over $400 for one night! It doesn't do any good calling the hotel. Either they keep their phone off the hook or if by chance the line isn't busy and someone answers, the individual who answers the phone makes the excuse that a manager isn't in or available! I'm always assured a manager will call me back. It's been nearly two weeks without being able to reach a manager, receive a call back from said manager, or get the resolution from their corporate office--which we were told would be a 48 hour return time. They're thieves! Even though we've gone to corporate, they're ALSO giving us the runaround with the extra charges! Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tucson are dishonest thieves and we will continue to fight for our money back!

Positive: The clerk at the front desk was very helpful. She gave me a choice of floors and I asked for whatever option would be the most quiet - she definitely delivered. The room was so quiet, which was very much appreciated. Negative: No; I was very happy with this hotel.
