Pretty clean, HAD PLENTY OF TP. Everyone we talked to was nice and friendly, and the "campground host" basically left us alone so far as I know (my dad stayed in camp more than me, but he didn't say they bugged him any). No TP, an annoying "campground host", or loud obnoxious campers are my biggest pet peeves, and there were no such issues.

There a board where you place the money for the camping spot you wish you stay in. The fee is 10 dollars a night! I think this is a great price. There's a really beautiful hiking trail there. Really worth it.

Lake Roberts is one of my favorite places to visit! Do yourself a favor and don't go to a cabin. One of the best ways to experience this area is by camping. I've been coming for years and always have such a wonderful time! The Upper End and Mesa campground are first come first served basis. Mesa has hookups for RVs and running water at almost every campsite. The Upper End is only dry camping however there are water faucets at both ends of the campground near the restrooms. I found the campground and the restrooms to be really clean. Well behaved dogs are welcome and of course there is fishing. One year we caught 21 fish in 2 hours!! Don't forget to take some time to visit the Gila Cliff Dwellings and the hot springs!

Very remoted, far-away clear unpoluted campground. Amazing big spots, no electricity or water, but there is drinking water pump right on the middle of the campground, so you can fill up. Lake and lake trails/lower and upper/ @20 yards fr the edge of campground. We were visiting 3rd of Jan, no people, all was for us!!!

Saw that there was no reservations that could be done and it was a first come first serve to get a campground. What time would be the best time to try to get a spot to camp?

Personally, i would go very early in the morning..... we send someone a day ahead & he gets the spot, especially during holiday weekends !! Weekdays are usually not as busy !! Have fun !! 😁
