Handy place to stay for free while visiting silver City and the gila National Forest. Not really a great campground for trailers or fifth wheels, as it is small in the spaces are tight. Two vault toilets and campfire rings at every site with a concrete picnic table. Pretty high elevation, I'm guessing short of 7,000 ft, so keep an eye on the weather. I got snowed on a little bit which was kind of a pleasant surprise coming out of the desert.

Great campsite. No fee. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Decent amount of space between most of the sites. Nice picnic tables and fire pits. Plenty of shade and trees for our hammock. Access road was a little bumpy and wet but not terrible. A few hiking trails were a nice addition.

Pretty nice, not many mosquitos. Was able to make it into camp on my heavily loaded street bike without a problem, YMMV. Was very quiet until a loud group of kids came in at midnight. That's their parents' fault, not the campsite. Counted two bathrooms and trash sites... pretty decent for such a small site! The road there is pretty dark and windy with deer in the area... I recommend grabbing food/supplies from town beforehand, especially in the evening.
