Great free camping or day trip spot with fire rings and picnic tables with several public restrooms. Easy access just off the road but you will go up past 8,000 feet if you come over Emory Pass. There are twelve camping spots that are about 150' a part with a small creek that runs parallel with the camp sites. Great scenary in the fall as the leaves change color.

Love this place, but, one restroom facility was out of service May 30 - June 1, 2019. Sign was posted on door, not evident from vehicle. We set up camp before discovering this fact, working restroom was a long walk away 😐

RoadTrip Eddie

Extremely private, secluded. Beautiful, lush with trees, green, birds of all kinds, and forest smells. One of my top 5 National Forest campgrounds in NM.

Nice forested campground. Widely spaced sites with the usual picnic table and fire pit. Some sites situated up a slight hill from the parking space and therefore not ADA accessible. Pit toilets were very clean and stocked with TP. Minus one star b/c of road noise from a state highway, albeit somewhat sparsely traveled.
