Made an online appointment. You have to sign in 10 minutes or less before your appointment. I was seen in a couple minutes. Laura waited on me. She was very nice and very helpful with getting my real id adl. I was out in maybe 15 minutes. Love the Palmer DMV.

Over an hour wait both times recently. Dumb. Need to be able to do more things online. Kim was not friendly and I felt like she was angry at me. Edit: Well. The next time response did not work out. Tried calling to find out about documents to bring for my son's driver's permit, because the website is not clear. Was on hold over half an hour, started at caller 50. Got down to caller 3 then they hung up on me!!!! Beeped a bunch then dial tone!!!! 😡😈😡😈😠😡

I made an appointment a week ago for 3:40 P.M. I showed up 10 minutes early. I checked in 5 minutes early, as I was advised. I’m still sitting here waiting and it’s 4:40 p.m. I haven’t been seen! This is ridiculous! Why even have an appointment if your not going to be seen at the time of the appointment?

Easy going people. Very efficient. Even have a good sense of humor.

It depends really are u in anchorage or the valley an how long for the tags n stuff before u want to renew
I'm not sure about the ID, but the drivers license is $20.00. Although your license can count as ID.
I believe $15 at the Palmer DMV, but at the Wasilla Quick DMV it costs $45.
Yes but it has to be scheduled online from what they told me
If it is a regular driver's license, it can be done via mailing it in. Visit https://online.dmv.alaska.gov/DMVMailInRenewal/index.aspx for more info. If it is a Real ID, go to http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/ and you can make an appointment to do it in person at the DMV location.
Hi Teresa, please see link below for the driver's manual. http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/dlmanual/manuals.htm
Hi Dee, if the placard is permanent (blue) you may be eligible to renew online. If the placard is temporary (red) you will need to have your doctor fill out form 861 and you may walk into the DMV to have it renewed.
