Don’t go if it’s not Dr. Skelsey. Tech for the other male doctor was impatient and rude. And the doctor was as well.
Edward Seacord
Complete exam and consultation. Tech was very knowledgeable and helpful during the process.

An optometrist is an eye doctor who performs comprehensive eye exams, prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses for vision correction, and provides pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing LASIK and other eye surgery performed by an ophthalmologist. Optometrists also are trained to diagnose and treat eye diseases, including glaucoma. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor (MD) or osteopathic doctor (DO) who specializes in eye and vision care. Ophthalmologists perform eye exams, diagnose and treat disease, and perform eye surgery. They also write prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses. Our doctors are specialized in both optometry and ophthalmology, so look to Summit Eye Center for medical and surgical eye care needs. However, we do not fit contact lenses.

Start to minimize vision loss today with professional treatment by Summit Eye Center.
Yes! Dry eye syndrome is an irritating condition that is more likely to affect you as you grow older, though any person young or old is susceptible. Eyes may become red, itchy, blurry, or more. Individuals can't produce quality tears to lubricate the eyes, so our professional eye doctors can prescribe a treatment just for you. These include, but are not limited to, artificial tear drops, eye ointments and gels, prescription medication, IPL treatment, or Thermi treatment. Fight dry eye today by consulting with our dry eye specialists.

Summit Eye Center eye doctors perform both procedures to correct vision for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Both LASIK and PRK are surgeries that use a laser to reshape the cornea, front surface of the eye, to improve one’s vision without glasses or contact lenses. The difference in these procedures is how the laser is applied to the eye. With LASIK, the outer layers of the cornea are lifted back and then the laser is applied to the eye. With PRK, the laser is applied superficially to the outer corneal tissue. LASIK surgery recovery is usually quicker than that of PRK surgery. After recovery, the vision is similar with both procedures. Our doctors will be able to consult with you and evaluate which procedure will be best to correct your vision today.
Diabetes is a disease that can damage blood vessels, including in the eye, thereby developing retina damage (diabetic retinopathy). If the retina's light-sensitive tissues in the back of the eye get damaged, vision may blur and could eventually lead to blindness. Diabetic retinopathy can be diagnosed by Summit Eye Center’s eye doctors. Good control of one’s blood sugar is the most protective thing patients can do to minimize their risk of developing diabetic retinopathy.
