pro-tip: if you are an oregon medicinal marijuana patient for psychiatric illness, columbia pain & spine institute will demand you stop using it in order to receive pain management. they will tell you it is the law, it is NOT. they will refuse to "argue", you should refuse to be forced to choose which of your debilitating conditions you want treated. Good Sam pain management understands the reality of cannabis-based medication and they dont force their patients to give it up. give them a call first. The doctor and staff are all nice enough, but the anti-mmj policy and the dissemination of factually false information is too many bad marks against them.

I've been seeing this clinic for a few months now for a herniated disc. Dr. Maksimov has been helpful and quick to a solution, which I appreciate. I had a steroid injection and the nurse who helped me was super helpful and caring. The shot did not help me so I had a follow up appt to get a surgery referral. I was also given some hydrocodone to help with my pain. The hydrocodone wasn't very effective, so I called the office multiple times until someone called me back. I explained how I am in a lot of pain and can't do my job properly and they scheduled me for a week from then. I was then passed off to an assistant bc I had a medical question, and all she did was write it down and she will ask the Dr. I've never heard an answer and this was a week ago. I run out of hydrocodone, and nothing else has any effect. Out of desperation for some possible relief, I bought some LEGAL weed for pain management and it actually helps a bit, I was surprised. So I go to the follow up appt to see about more effective pain medicine. I see a different doctor, Dr. Lefebre. She was very cold and unkind. Apparently Dr. Maksimov had put in my chart back in January that I have a "history of marijuana use" which is false, I just started a few days ago. She just goes into how they don't prescribe opioids to people who use weed. She doesn't even suggest a non-opiod drug she could prescribe. I had to ask for a different drug and she's like oh yea that can work. ISN'T IT YOUR JOB AS THE DOCTOR TO BE ABLE TO PRESCRIBE MEDICINE?!?! This whole process of trying to get my back fixed has consisted of me having to ask and fight for every test, procedure, drug, etc. Our medical system is so broken.

I would recommend this Clinic to anyone that suffers from chronic pain. The staff, Dr’s and nurses are quick to get you in and out. They will answer any questions or concerns that you have along with giving you multiple options to manage your pain. All staff go over and beyond to maintain Outstanding care for their patients.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer your question without details. We need full history, physical examination and imaging in order to properly evaluate the condition and formulate treatment. The best way would be to contact our new patients coordinator and schedule an appointment with one of our physicians.
