IF YOU HAVE A PLANNED TRIP TO SAN DIEGO, DO NOT BOOK HERE! You might not have a room to stay at!! For peace of mind book somewhere else. We booked our hotel rooms months in advance for my daughters 4th birthday trip to the zoo and safari park. They call us the day before my guests and I are all set to leave for our trip to inform us they don’t have the rooms we booked. We booked and paid the rooms two months in advance, all they did was say sorry and said to find another hotel. What is the point of booking and paying for a hotel??

All the rooms are made of paper mache. I'm not sure what's vibrating all the time. All. The. Time. You can feel it. Are you being raptured, is it your neighbors washing machine, toilet flushing, or ac unit? The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything. Including the massive loads of noise from the courtyard. Thank God there's a 10 pm curfew. If you have to work any night shifts, don't stay here unless you like alarm clock sounds of kids splashing and (having fun) screaming. The staff super nice and understanding. They're serving alcohol and food again! But just on Wednesdays - covid doesn't work on Wednesdays. Still a welcome slow return of the old Homewood suites days. Other than that, 2 weeks was too long and fell short of what standards Hilton promises to deliver.

My family and I stayed here during our vacation as we visited the many amazing San Diego attractions. San Diego offers tons of fun. There aren’t many positive comments we have about this hotel. The staff seemed friendly but many weren’t not dependable. We literally asked for our roomed to be cleaned 3 days in a row but no one ever came on any day the whole time we were here. We didn’t need cleaning everyday but at least 1 of 7 days would have been nice. It would also have been nice if they had the cleaning crew go by the rooms to exchange towels, but instead, you have to go the front every time you need towels. Our room had electrical issues as the main bedroom light will turn on by itself in the middle of the night which is scary when the first couple of times but when the AC and the lights all go off and on when they are not supposed to, we chalked it up to some electrical issue. We heard that this hotel was converted to a Hilton which is probably why there are issues (it was a different hotel previously). It can be tough to find parking as there is a hotel right next door that shares the parking. I guess the only positives are that this hotel seemed central to many of the SD attractions, and it is also near a shopping center with many different shopping and food options. The room had a good amount of space for all of our things. Not sure how a hotel gets 3 stars but I’d rate it closer to a 2 star based on my past experiences and other hotels’ star ratings. A little honesty could have gone a long ways. If you don’t have staff or just don’t do cleaning, just tell us that instead of smiling in our face and doing differently than what you said.

For 2 of 6 nights, we were without a bathroom. The shower had sewage backflow back up into the bathroom (it was disgusting). It took them until the following night to fix it. They did not have another room to give us, so we were stuck in a stinky room the entire time it was broken. They were supposed to deep clean the bathroom afterward, but didn't (they just sprayed some water on the sewage to wash it down). Furthermore, the repairman had gloves on and kept touching the door handles, and everything with his sewage hands. We had to keep following after him disinfecting everything. I was very disappointed with their service and resolution to the problem. They did end up offering a second bathroom on the premise, but it was so hard to take our little kids across the hotel in the middle of the night if they had to use the bathroom. In the end, they offered money back for 1.5 nights. I still feel that being without a bathroom and forced to sleep in a room smelling like sewage was not worth a 1.5-night refund. I was very disappointed in the staff and entire experience.
