Shadle Branch is open now. While the water park is open parking is limited so plan accordingly! Has self check-in & check out but librarians are glad to help. Go to their website & set up an account & you will be very happy that you did - promise!

Hate to speak ill of a library but this branch is an absolute mess. First problem: There are no staff outside of normal work hours except for a brief window on Saturdays. For everyone that is not a stay at home parent or retiree, you need to figure everything out yourself. Second problem: There is no way to figure out things yourself. Despite being open for months after the remodel, there are still no signs indicating where books are. There were a few pieces of printer paper taped to shelves that vaguely allude to nonfiction and fiction; unfortunately, those pieces of paper are not accurate. You essentially have to wander around scrutinizing every shelf to determine what it contains. The books are in order within a shelf, but the shelves are not in order with each other. Mystifying. Third problem: The catalog is not accurate. After finally discovering there was no rhyme or reason to the order of the shelves and stumbling upon the shelf with the call number I wanted, I discovered that the book I was looking for, which the catalog said had multiple copies available at Shadle, was not in its allotted place. There is every chance that the book was simply elsewhere in the library given the utter lack of coherent organization, but I had no hope of finding it. Absolute waste of an evening. After being closed for nearly two years, I'm incredibly disappointed that this is the outcome of the renovation and all the bond money.

Thanks! The library is beautiful and yes so are those that work there! I published my second book (Happiness - Apply now!) from this location. Both my books can be found on Amazon by searching in quotes, "Tomithy Jamison". I took some beautiful pictures this morning of you! The reflections on the water tower were from your beautiful windows! The bright window flash pic of light was me looking the other way back towards the library! The pictures of the gold reflections on the water tower reminded me of a quote from my first book... "Golden wings aglow Beauty the angels only know!" My first book is titled 'Quotes and Antidotes'. Both my books can be found on Amazon by searching in quotes, "Tomithy Jamison". Tom

The remodeling of this library is incredible! Hands down you should visit this library ESPECIALLY if you have young kiddos and children! I'm so excited for myself and my 6 year old who I just decided to homeschool....this will be a great place to visit when we need an outing for indoor play or most importantly, BOOKS and learning tools!

Yes.
Hi Dan! You can apply for a library card online and then pick up your card at Shadle Park Library anytime during full-service hours. Please bring a form of photo ID for us to verify it's you! Here's the link to apply for a card: https://www.spokanelibrary.org/signup Full-service hours are: Monday - Thursday 10am - 5pm Friday - Saturday 11am - 5pm
That number is only temporary. Have ID and the librarians will give you a physical card next time you go there
Yes it is up and running since i was there the first week of january
On average from 5pm to 6pm is pretty dead, and most staff are hourly not salaried with no overtime (specific situations only). It's a government entity, so it needs to be efficient with how it operates and within it's budget.
No
How do I renew books on line
