I have always gotten my hair done by Tracy. She does a great job followed her from great clips. I have very thick fragile hair and she has been the only stylist who knows exactly how my hair needs to be cut and thinned. I definitely recommend!!

I have been coming here for several years for haircuts and have had several different stylists cut my hair. The cuts have always been consistent and the stylists friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, after my most recent haircut and my first one with Tracy, I won't be back. I was not greeted when I walked in and instead instructed to sit in the chair. The appointment felt rushed and it was done in under 30 minutes for a wash, cut, and blowdry. I articulated what I was looking for (pretty straightforward) and also asked if she had any suggestions for what cut might look good on me and did not receive any feedback. After the wash, she parted my hair on the opposite side of where it is usually parted (and where it was when I walked in). I didn't question it since stylists use all kinds of methods to trim and I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. She then proceeded to lift up sections to cut and drop them back down, and that was the extent of my haircut. There was no double checking of lengths or blending layers or checking how they frame my face before she began blowdrying my hair on a high heat setting. The only comments about my hair were how thick it was, which slowed the drying, and how my part wasn't behaving. I explained that was because it naturally parts on the opposite side of my head, which didn't faze her. After blowdrying and making a couple final cuts to the back, she was done. I felt like she didn't care about my hair or what I wanted and overall she came across as very apathetic. When I got home, I realized the layers that were put in did not blend at all and I essentially have a straight shelf next to my face and my hair is extremely dry and frizzy. I am going to have to go elsewhere to get it fixed. I try to be very understanding when people have bad or off days, but I am not willing to go through this upsetting experience again and cannot recommend this salon anymore.

So here's the 100% honest truth. I had Kennedy as my stylist. I got there on time, in fact a bit early and Kennedy showed up about 45 minutes late to my appointment. Everyone was calling her trying to reach her wondering why she hadn't shown up yet. Tiffany finally got ahold of her and I guess she had overslept. It was very frustrating. Tiffany had to start on my hair or else all Kennedy's appointments after would be badly piled up. I understand having rough days everyone has them especially coming from someone with insomnia, I guess I just didn't expect it from anyone else especially a professional. I was worried that she wasn't going to show up so then I had gone for nothing and I would have had to bus another hour home and it had already taken me an hour to bus there. She came in and smelled like alcohol and cigarettes so I don't know if she was hungover or what. Here's the positives though. She was extremely kind. She listened to me, she was patient when I asked a million questions. She offered me beverages. Tiffany was extremely nice as well even when I was extremely worried about my hair and even private messaged her on Facebook (when I shouldn't have) panicking that my hair wasn't going to come out right. I don't recall her apologizing though for being late, and I would have appreciated that. But I do appreciate her coming in with a great attitude when she could have been in a bad one knowing she was in trouble and already off to a rough start to her day. But the problem is my hair turned out really patchy and horrible looking. Both Tiffany and Kennedy claimed it was because it's a "process" like it was step 1 to my hair goal but I'm sorry a full foil shouldn't come out like that. There were full on strands that were missed completely untouched by the bleach like the bottom half of my hair was not done at all. I went to several stylists afterwards and they looked at my hair and they said it was a disaster. They said that Kennedy should have never left my hair looking like that. My hair on top was bleached perfectly but the rest of it was completely copper you could see a definitive line where it didn't lighten the same. It never lightened enough on the bottom half from about my eye level down and several stylists I saw said they would never have left me leave looking like that let alone didn't understand why underneath was completely untouched and yes I did get a full foil not partial. Also Kennedy put a leave in hair mask after that was supposed to protect my hair from the bleach damage somehow but my hair had never felt so dry and sticky and disgusting in my life. It felt like it was covered in glue and like straw. After I washed it out it felt back to normal. My new stylist used a bunch of oils and stuff that made my hair feel better then it ever has. Also when I got a Brazilian wax there Tiffany totally missed spots on me and it drove me nuts. I will never be coming back to The Hair Loft. Also, on Yelp my pictures got taken down off the main album but they left everybody’s else’s because apparently they can’t handle criticism and proof that they did a horrible job and wanted to hide my photos from showing up to people and I think that’s disgusting. I got an email from Yelp saying my photos got featured and now they’re all gone from the main album but everyone’s photos who has reviewed the salon are still there. I hope they don’t get taken down again after I post this. And by the way, the day after I posted my review the boss Tiffany followed me on Instagram as if to be petty like I saw what you did. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.
