The dunes are always so fun to go riding on! They're changing all the time.

We're actually at Steve's ATV.. They have the best ATVs in the area. We also enjoy the KOA. You can got out to the dunes from there!! Steve's ATV. Houser, OR! Try it... You'll love it!

This would be better described as dune access point although sand camping is available in some locations scattered throughout the dune area. If you enter to the left you have several tall dunes and worm trails ending at horsefal or boxcar. Enter to the right and you find out what the meaning of the words woops road means but if you survive this fun time of up 3' down 3' every 6' you'll end up in a 13 mile by 2 miles of something for everyone, fantastic worm trails access to the beach, open dunes and sand roads. This area is best used by off-road motorcycles, quads, side by side and 4x4's. (note tires and air pressure make a huge difference on how much fun or work your going to have). Over all this is a great place to have fun. ( Caution this fun can be dangerous and should be experienced with people who are aware of the danger's and how to avoid them.) In short one of the best places in Oregon to spend time.

Hi Laura, Great question. Hauser sand camping sites are accessed via narrow, winding, soft sand trails only, which makes the sites difficult, if not impossible, to access for larger vehicles or trailers. If you are looking for (sand) camping access which is friendlier to trailers there are likely better options nearby at Horsfall, Spinreel, Siltcoos, South Jetty, and Siltcoos sand camping locations. Hope this helps!
I'm not from Hauser but I rent a cabin in the county campground has shower house access to dunes but outdoor cooking only. There is also a KOA with cabin's available. I have not looked into it but I'm sure there are some rental houses in the area.
No its not free.. Go to the state parks website or to Myrtle Wood store and camping and ask them
You need a permit to camp any time.
