Picked up some to go food and parked here to eat my lunch. I was there maybe 20 minutes but it was relaxing.

Confessions of a Food Freak

OMG THIS PLACE IS MAGICAL. Went hiking and wanted to camp afterwards. We tried multiple camp sites everything was full but this was the last place on the list before heading back home and they had room. The guy that was watching over the space was super friendly and we shared a cute convo. It started to rain but all I can say it was magical and beautiful. Would definitely go back.

Friendly camp host, clean and well maintained grounds, the river sound masks the highway noise for the most part, but no internet connection from my site, #4, using Verizon. I walked the loop and found one bar of service in the higher numbered sites, and two bars at the entrance to the campground. Still very pleasant and I'd stay again for the convenience of the location.

Camping next to the zig zag river was very nice. Almost no bugs and very clean. Our dogs loved the campsite my kids picked out. It was right next to the river. The sound of the water flowing was very peaceful and made you feel you were far away from civilization. However, in fact, you are less than two miles from a thriftway and a dairy queen. Government camp is a 10 min car ride. It's a great place to make home base to explore the mountain. The camp host was really nice but she didn't have any wood. We had to buy it from the store and it was spendy if you like a decent fire to last while you sit around and tell stories.
