They have raised the prices to 21.00 per night and on holidays it is 3 dollars more.If you have more than 1 vehicle it costs 8.00 per vehicle per night. No running water but they do have a couple of restrooms but that's about it.

Amazing! We stumbled on this campground by mistake. We were trying to find a campground but they were full or closed. So we stopped at the Ranger station which was also closed but looked at the maps outside.,We saw 3 that were close by and you did not have to have a reservation. So we went to McNeil a campground. This was a a Friday night and we found a perfect spot. The campground does not take resetvations. First come first serve. There is not a bad spot in the campground. It's $19 a night. They have a outhouse style bathrooms. That are kept clean. We. Met the Campground Representives. Eric and Vanessa are amazing. They take pride in there work, and go above and beyond to make your stay, feel like home. There boss should be very proud of them.

Very basic campground with pit toilets, no showers or drinking water. For some reason the forest is dying here so it's pretty ugly. No on site hosts so it can be noisy during quiet hours. Much better campground down the road a little ways.

Questions & Answers

What's the story on the trees. Some reviewers say most are dead or dying, but the photos don't seem to show that. Was the area struck by fire recently? Disease?

A lot of the trees have lots of moss on them.

Are there safe places to wade or swim? The Sandy doesn't have the reputation of being a safe river, but maybe there are some swimming holes nearby?

There is a tiny creek up by the horse camp, bit it's still freezing, and moving quickly. Definitely not able to get in the Sandy in this area.
