Little Zig Zag Falls is a hidden gem between Government Camp and Rhododendron in the Mt. Hood National Forest. The trail up to the Falls is fairly easy. The water is crystal clear running down the riverbed. It’s a beautiful little wayside station for a short nature walk experience.

Giving a 1 because that's the least. Supposed to be open according to the closed due to covid Sandy Ranger District & the sign on the door says open Monday-Friday & am here Tuesday morning from 9:40 to 10 & they are closed. Not a good use of tax dollars!

Like in previous post I liked how they display the trails with the qr codes to scan for location and all... The staff is very friendly all though the building is closed they still have window locations avalible for people to get passes and bathrooms where tidy as well..

The Zigzag Ranger Station is a great place to stop off and visit on your way up to the Mount Hood National Forest. They have maps and information and permits. Some of the permits that you can get include firewood cutting permits and mushroom collecting. Everything is very inexpensive. Help keep these resources available for everyone by following the rules.

Best ask forest service at zig zag ranger station . Avoid any fins .
I don't know. I did not go that way. Sorry I couldnt answer your question.
The answer depends on whether there is a fire closure order and how it is written. Call the ranger station between 8-12 or 1-4:00 for a specific answer on a specific day.
Do sell senior passes there, but call ahead to make sure they have them on hand to sell, there was a shortage at one point and those passes were hard to find. They're also more expensive these days, $80.
Visit recreation.gov for information.
When there is not an active fire ban. Check the Zigzag District website for alerts: no bans/ok burns
