This place saved my life. I don't kno where I'd be if I didn't seek treatment here. I was heading down the wrong path quickly. I finally got enough sense to call discovery house for an intake. It took me a few years to get stable n then taper myself out but I not only did it successfully but I learned alot about myself thru the process. Most importantly I learnt that in order for the methadone clinic to work I had to not jus be a "good"patient and arrive everyday and take my drink and leave and attend all my appointments and groups....i had to focus on changing my life outside of the clinic...changing my friends and my choices...i had to make a complete lifestyle change. I moved 200 miles away from everyone and everything I knew. Got a full time job got a good counselor, changed my relationships changed my frame of mind and way of thinking. I learned that I was lacking coping skills...actually skills in general. U can move away and change everything however drug use and abuse is everywhere...u cannot hide from it or run from it. I had to work on growing my "tool box" of skills and tools to deal with life clean and sober. Ian a completely diffrent person now and so proud of who I have become. It was hard work but so worth it. Thank u discovery house

changed my entire life for the better in 2 weeks. never looking back. fetenal is killing people methadone clinics are saving humans lifes.. when you choose not to drink alcohol to cope because it makes you insain, opiates can cure depression anxiety anger and alot of pain inside mental and physical.. anyone whos never tried them for medication you shouldnt ever be opiniated about how beneficial they are. because you dont know the first thing about opiates or what they truly can do for someone suffering mentally and physically

My wife goes here and the majority of the staff are great counselors, reception, all great people who truly care. Her suboxone doctor who she had for the first 2 years she was there truly cared about her and her life struggles and keeping the dose at what was comfortable for her to keep her clean and successful. Now they have a new suboxone Dr, Dr Fine and honestly he shouldn't be a dr. He doesn't care about his patients. Admitted to my wife that he needs to reduce his caseload and get some of the long term medically assisted out of there. She told him a lot of those people could end up back on drugs. It really depends on the situation. He basically told her it's not his problem. The very first time he met her, he didn't care about what was going on in her life or how this may effect it. He only cared about getting her out of there, for good. She's begging for a couple more months, just long enough so she can finish school and not fail out from being sick and unable to focus. That was also a no. Don't go to this dr, actually please do because that's just what he doesn't want. He wants to taper you and get you out just as quick as you get in. Then what's the point? Some people need long term assisted Care to stay clean and keep there life in order not everyone but some. At the very least wait until the stresses are reduced a bit. When you don't give a crap about your patients I guess it doesn't matter. First time she's had a Dr whom actually admits he doesn't care. I'm sure she'll be retaliated for this but she'll be giving the staff a heads up

I personally think that the staff here is amazing. the nurses are awesome and don't make you feel like just a number. they know and remember the names to every face that comes in. they have helped me and my fiance get through our addictions. my fiance has been out of the discovery house for 2 years and is doing great and I am on my way out.
