I came to Akari while visiting Portland for the first time. The staff was really friendly and I was lucky enough to have the owner do my hair. My husband and I were doing a night on the town and I wanted my hair done for the evening. It came out exactly how I wanted it to. Truly a five star experience!

I decided to treat myself to a spa day getaway trip for my birthday. This was my first spa day experience and I'm so blessed that it was with Akari. From the 2 young ladies at the reception desk greeting me with beautiful smiles to the goodie bag they gifted me - I was so touched by their kindness. The atmosphere was very calm and welcoming. The place was very clean, well designed and decorated. You can tell they all have a great working relationship and it's evident in the way they talk to each other and work together. For every service I had that day was met with a knowledgeable, kind, skilled professional that made me feel special and comfortable. I can't say enough about these ladies! I would recommend Akari to any and everyone I know and I would without a doubt come back. I would make the 2 hour drive just to have a spa day at Akari for no special occasion! You would love it as I did. Thank you for making me feel welcomed, making me feel human. You're all so wonderful!

Can't stress enough how AMAZING the staff at this salon is!!! Every single person I came in contact with was so kind and made me feel like such a star! Special Special shout outs to EMI who went above and beyond to organize and coordinate all of the details of my wedding and also to Stacie, who turned me into an absolute queen for my special day!!!!!!! Akari is a fantastic salon. I’d say the best in the Portland area! I highly recommend seeing Peter John. He did a wonderful job and really took his time which I appreciate. Mark the salon manager is the sweetest salon manager I’ve ever encountered in my 15+ years of going to salons and he really made me feel welcome. All around a great salon!
