Great location on Back Cove, accessible to downtown. The property is well maintained, plowed promptly in winter, and the staff responds quickly to maintenance requests or other needs. Five stars if the owners install some EV charging stations.

I have been living at Princeton on Back Cove on and off for about 18 years, I always return to this apartment complex to rent an apartment when I am back from my travels and can easily recommend it to everyone who wants to live in Portland. The apartment complex is located by the Back Cove where you can spend time walking by the water and enjoying a quiet area of the city, throughout the year. The location is only a 6 minute ride away from the city center, it is close to bus lines and a large supermarket. Maintenance on the propriety is very reliable and prompt, and it has also improved over the years. Snow is plowed promptly and neighbors are generally quiet and respectful. I am impressed that the propriety office implements the official policies consistently. Rent prices are generally very good, especially when compared with other downtown apartment complex.

I felt that it was great! We moved in super smoothly! We submitted our paperwork for the initial look of the apartment. We love our space and it’s a wonderful community. Although we do have an issue with ants (I think they might be getting in through some of the cracks in the windows), the sink not draining properly, the windows are very dirty even when we tried scrubbing the windows the film wasn’t coming off also it’s not easy to get to the outside of the window to clean, and the dishwasher leaking and it also has an odor to it. Other then these few issues we love the apartment! We couldn’t be happier to live here and have the opportunity to rent from your company!!! Everyone is so responsive on contacting us to help and we appreciate it! Thanks! Maura Freme

I'm finishing up my second and final year here. It's not terrible. It was my first apartment after being a homeowner for 16 years (sold to relocate). I thought it was a dump at first (actual apartment will not be as good as the model they might show you), but having seen other apartments in the area, these are comparable. The buildings are old (1944 military barracks) and I don't believe the apartments have ever been updated. The plumbing is strong, though...but also noisy. My biggest problems are the lack of electrical outlets (none of which are grounded) and the heat. There's no way to control the heat so unless you like your apartment temperature in the 80s, you'll be uncomfortable. I keep the windows open most of the winter, but then sometimes I freeze because the heat stops. It makes no sense. During the last few warm nights, I had my air conditioner running to combat the heating system. (Why does the heat run when it's above 60 degrees?) The laundry facility is really just one washer and dryer per two buildings, and Princeton has stated that those will be removed at some point. That would drop my rating to one or two stars. It can get rather noisy at times, but I think most apartment complexes are like that. Parking costs $50 extra per month if you don't want to park far away on the street, and your parking spot might be stolen from time to time. Too many people let their guests park in reserved spots. The best thing about this complex is the location. It's close to everything.
