Such a small trail to walk, but nice to get out of car and rest a minute and walk. Bathrooms were clean..very isolate trail. Wish I could have gone during a rainy season not much to see as far as wildlife.

A small intimate park with tons of wildlife. Saw lots of red winged blackbirds, barn swallows, tree swallows, western fence lizards. I even saw a garter snake, a red eared slider, and a western pond turtle. There are some plants that are labeled with names and some parts of the cement pathway have prints of animals and plants. There is also an amphitheater. When I went there memorial day at 11am, there was nobody in the parking lot but when I left at 1pm there were a few others. It's a pretty small park so 2 hours would honestly be thr max time here but for people who don't birdwatch, you can walk around in 30 minutes. It's not exactly society's definition of a "beautiful" park but it's native CA plants that allow wildlife to thrive here.

The trails are shorter... seems like a park than a refuge... may be other parts of the refuge was not yet developed.. nice walk though...

Took a nice walk on Thanksgiving day. Will MOST definitely come back for tours and kayaking. Saw a little dark brown ferret sleeping at the base of the reeds and 5 Sandhill cranes!
