Definitely nowhere near as helpful as in the past. My father and I were pretty much turned away and treated like meager bums. Won't be going back there anytime soon

Until today I always thought highly of the Salvation Army. Went in to see about assistance on a NW Natural Gas Shutoff notice. Was informed that they could only assist up to $100.00 if I had never received assistance, which I hadn't. Also told me to bring a receipt that I had paid it down to within $100.00 before they would help. Got a receipt of payment from Community Consortium and called to schedule appointment. They told me that was not a receipt even though it says it on the paperwork, but only a pledge to pay. Therefore they would not assist on fulfilling what was told to me days earlier. Seriously Screwed. Thanks for nothing Salvation Army. Can't believe they would even do that!

It actually depends on timing. Funds aren't always available. Check community consortium, also FISH. CHANCE sometimes can help as well. Good luck.
