Very very windy but worth the experience! Make sure to use a rock or hammer to get your tent stakes in the ground.

What a gem! Great location, hard to book (6 mo in advance, at opening time), but worth it. It's a bit over hyped, but if you get a clear day, it's quite magical. Take a hike along the beach to check out Alamere Falls and then watch the sunset! Potable water at the site, along with a charcoal grill, bear box, and latrines.

Looked alright, very exposed campsites but had a pit toilet, picnic tables, and bear boxes

Views and location are great and it is not too far of a hike in from a parking lot. It is, however very exposed with no shade to be had anywhere, so prepare accordingly. And of course, as with all beach camping, prepare to have all your gear get wet overnight.

No fire pits in the campground, but you can have a fire on the beach. First, you need a fire permit to have fire in Point Reyes National Park. You can obtain a fire permit at the Visitors Center on the day that you arrive -- you can NOT get a fire permit ahead of time because it all depends on Spare the Air days and fire hazard days in the hot summer. Second, you can NOT collect wood to burn -- there really isn't much back there anyway -- thus, you need to haul in your own wood. That's a huge hike with wood and gear; we typically bike in the wood or pull a wagon of wood by hand to Coast Camp (3 miles on a flatter trail) with our wagon.
You can bike, but not with a trailer. Some of the paths are pretty rugged that would make a trailer hazardous. However you could bike this solo on a mountain buke.
