One of the greatest low-elevation-gain hikes in America. I've written poems about the first majestic eucalyptus tree. Bring a bathing suit for Bass Lake and the triplet of waterfalls above Alamere. Take the LEFT TRAIL to Wildcat and walk back on the beach to Alamere early in the morning, you won't regret it. Climb up Alamere and back home. This place has magic.

Dogs are not allowed. I guess because there's a lot of poison oak and poison ivy during the hike.
Actually for a person not used to walking as much as I do, it took me 2hr. One way, 2hr return. If you visit; do it as early as possible. So that the night does not catch you.
Trail markers state that dogs and bikes are not allowed
No, bikes are not allowed on this trail.
Yes, the parking is usually closed by the afternoon. So I recommend going there early.
