UPDATE: Sadly, my experience with Cherriots went downhill after my first positive review. On June 10th, I waited at the bus stop for my second trip on a cold, very rainy day. The bus arrived late, and then swerved away from me, nearly hitting me in my wheelchair, declining to allow me to board the bus. SHOCKED, I called Dispatch and spoke with a very prickly person, Tristan, to ascertain why the bus had left me in the cold rain. While on the phone with Tristan, a SECOND Cherriots bus pulled up, let a passenger off, and ALSO DECLINED to let me board that bus. I then reached out to CHERRIOTS LIFT to arrange a different pick-up method because I worried that a THIRD city bus would also decline to let me board. Cherriots Lift said she had contacted Dispatch to specifically request that the third bus pick me up. After I had waited in the cold rain for 45 MINUTES, by now drenched and sobbing, the third bus finally picked me up. When I contacted Cherriots Dispatch to file a complaint against the two drivers, I was lectured by Tristan who unbelievably tried to BLAME ME for the drivers' failure to pick me up; I was told someone would get back to me that day. As of this writing, nobody from Cherriots has bothered to reach out to me. Needless to say, I am through with Cherriots and will be filing an official complaint with the agency who oversees compliance with the American With Disabilities Act. UPDATE: June 27, 2022: After the unfortunate experience with Cherriots, they contacted me and, gladly, everything has been resolved! I can honestly chalk the whole experience off to a misunderstanding. Cherriots has gone the distance to restore me to a happy rider again. All is well and I will happily be riding Cherriots in my future 😊.

Buses get me where I need to go always. And when I'm short on change the drivers are always so courteous and help me out by over riding the system.

I recently moved to Salem in early May. I had the occasion to ride Cherriots soon after my arrival. The bus was right on time, the driver was so helpful, and the experience was actually fun! I am a disabled rider in a wheelchair and had never ridden a bus in my chair. The driver was so kind and eager to teach me and I felt so welcome. Kudos to Cherriots!

I take the Keizer station bus's alot and usually I don't have alot of complaints. Typically, their very respectful and they look out for the riders. However, lately I feel their in such a rush lately where riders including myself, who have had injuries are not getting enough time to find a seat. I've almost fallen on bus 11 route quite a few times and it's dismissed like it's no big deal. I'm a preschool teacher and my students depend on me. To top it off the road over by Roth's off Portland Rd is under construction at this time and I've seen drivers being precarious in their driving as one of the construction workers has almost gotten hit. I would really appreciate it if the drivers could take more precaution.

Charlie! We're glad it will help you and the people at your church. Thanks for reaching out to us!
This is rediculous. If you were opening up busses for the weekends & later nights then why did you guys cut the original schedules from 9pm to 8pm? Sounds like a lie to me.
I Don't Really Know
Cherriots proposal is to add Saturday service and later weekdays in September 2019 when funding from the transit tax is available. Sunday service and more holiday service is scheduled for May 2020. You can read all of the updates at www.Cherriots.org/better. - Stephen Custer Cherriots Digital Marketing Coordinator
Weekend service would be great because I can't drive
Thanks for your help, Renne! Yes, Routes 9 and 19 travel on River Road in Keizer. You can view their full schedules at: Route 9: www.Cherriots.org/route/9 Route 19: www.Cherriots.org/route/19
No, also just buy a better mask. Mine has a zipper. So no excuse technically to not wear a mask.
No problem
Mr. Owner, U r funny, i appreciate a good sense of humor. But I could've sworn I misspelled cherriots of fire as cherriots of fire. Personally, I'd put the "cherry city" part first, then the chariots (sp?), but only cuz I'm that way. Thank u

They have to be as small as folded strollers.
Hi Clorinda! Ages 6-18 --- a day pass is $1 Ages 19-59 --- a day pass is $3.25 https://www.cherriots.org/fares/ Hope to see you on the bus!
Cherriots Regional routes don't yet travel south to Albany, so it looks like you'll have to take either an Amtrak train or POINT bus between Salem and Albany. Both of those are booked at https://www.amtrak.com/home. You can then take the Linn Shuttle (http://www.linnshuttle.com/) to Lebanon.
Route 12 travels down Happy Drive in NE Salem. You can view the schedule at https://www.Cherriots.org/route/12. See you on the bus!
Like where to exactly? I know going to wilsonville and back it was free....
The closest Trimet Max stop (rail) to Salem is in Wilsonville. The Cherriots Route 1X connects the Salem Downtown Transit Center to the Wilsonville Max stop.
I'm gonna be honest i have no idea where you'd get something like that. I think you should Them about that one Id Give them a call
I dont think until after the virus is gone the customer service part isnt even open now
No it's not free right now, but we couldn't get on because we didn't have the .75 cents I thought the driver was joking, but he wasn't.
Sunday service starts in May 2020 for the first time in Cherriots history! Most routes currently run Monday-Saturday. We'll post updates at www.Cherriots.org/changes later in the spring.
Cherriots Regional Routes 10X and 20X both travel from Salem to Woodburn, but they do not serve the Woodburn Premium Outlets shopping center. You'll need to transfer to Woodburn Transit because they have a stop there. Ride Route 10X from Salem to either the Woodburn Transit Center or Woodburn Bi-Mart and then transfer at either of those stops. You could also ride Route 20X to the Woodburn Bi-Mart and transfer there. Woodburn Transit operates hourly service on a loop throughout town. You can learn about their service at https://www.woodburn-or.gov/transit. To address some of the other answers listed here: - SMART Transit from Wilsonville does not serve the Woodburn Premium Outlets. - Route 1X, which is jointly operated by Cherriots and SMART, does not stop in Woodburn. It serves Salem and Wilsonville. Always check www.Cherriots.org for the latest information or call Customer Service at 503-588-2877.
Buses are on regular schedules both the day before Christmas and the day after Christmas. There is no bus service on Christmas Day. You can view all of the holiday service levels and closure information at www.Cherriots.org/holidays.
You can view the schedule for Route 8 at www.Cherriots.org/route/8 to see when it will serve Boone @ Sunnyside. If you're wondering if a bus is running late, please call Customer Service at 503-588-2877. In the near future, we'll have real-time tracking on the buses, so their locations will show on the website. Thanks for your patience!
The final trips leave the transit centers at 9 p.m. on Saturdays. You can view all of the schedules at Cherriots.org. Select Sevices, Maps, and Routes from the menu, then select your route. You can toggle between weekday and Saturday schedules. Another option is to call Customer Service at 503-588-2877 and they'll help you plan your trip. Thanks for riding Cherriots!

Thanks to everyone for chiming in while our office was closed. We worked hard to get the word out before Monday about our services not operating and we're sorry if you missed all of that messaging. The map doesn't show on our website when there is no service. That's why we put a red alert box at the top of every page to let riders know there is no service. Please consider following us on social media for the latest updates on our service. Here are the ways we communicated this closure: we posted notices on the bus, played audio announcements on the bus, posted notices on the monitors at the transit centers, put out three different social media posts during the weeks leading up to Monday on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn; and we also had an alert on every page of our website for the weeks leading up to Monday. More holiday service starts in May of 2020, so please follow us on social media or check our website for info: www.Cherriots.org/holidays.
If you are disabled you can ride for a reduced rate. If that is the case then you can buy day passes or monthly passes. If you're not disabled then you have to pay full fare. Just bcs you're on Medicare doesn't entitle you to discount rates. I hope that was clear.
A 30-Day Pass for Cherriots Local service is $45 for Fall Fare, $22.50 for Reduced Fare, and $10 for Youth Fare. You can view all of our fare info at www.Cherriots.org/fares. Happy riding!
They just started Saturdays
No option
You can look on the cherroits website they have route maps that show all the stops. You can also type in the address you want to go to and it tells you the bus route that will get you there.
Simply showing a letter or your health insurance card at Customer Service or any of our pass vendors will not get you the reduced fare. You'll need to apply for a Reduced Fare ID card. You can find more information on how to do this at www.Cherriots.org/reducedfare/ - Stephen Custer Cherriots Digital Marketing Coordinator
Follow Lorlie Apples directions- go to Market st, head east, at Lancaster South of Market is a bus shelter/ stop. However, if at some point you need to go downtown, the #11 will not go down there. The #11 driver can advise you of the best bus to take depending on his location on Lancaster Dr.
