The volunteers work hard to see that the cats are well taken care of and go to loving homes! If your thinking of adopting a cat you should contact DAWG!

I went to DAWG on a mercy mission trying to adopt a rescue cat for my son who suffers from a severe anxiety issue. As a matter of necessity I wanted a young female Siamese or Calico. It was to be a totally inside cat and I wanted it to be declawed as my cat is to prevent furniture and curtain damage. As it is my son is very emotional now as we were refused adoption. My cat came from Pet Smart and I had her declawed at Bryan County Animal clinic. Declawing made her a loving cat with no issues whatsoever. I will discourage anyone who thinks about going there.

Sad I and my husband came across a puppy we found running around the street sweet little boy and no one wanted or supposably could not took him in that's shame we got told just to drop him off where we found him from several animals shelters also we went to the Denison Police Department also to let them know about the dog they said they were going to have the animal control call us the animal control called us and told us they could not help us either they cannot take him in this is sad animal control can just tell you to drop him back off on the highway......

I found a kitten in the road yesterday, snatched her up and took her to the Denison Animal Welfare Group, just east of Spur 503. They kindly took her and had her with a foster home with other like aged kittens before lunch! They de wormed her, deflead, and vaccinated her too. I'm planning to drop off some canned food my picky eaters won't touch as a thank you, and I know "Magpie" will have the best chance of becoming tamed and have a good life.
No it is not. Animal control drops cats off at the Morton Street Animal Hospital. The pound is located in the back of the hospital.
Contact animal control, that's where DAWG gets their animals from.
They pull all their dogs from Denison dog pound. It is at Morton Street Animal Hospital. They do not intake dogs directly.
I know. Just thought anyone checking here would see the post. Thank you
My association with DAWG was limited to my adoption of one of their kittens. I do not know what their criteria is for accepting animals into their no-kill shelter, but I suggest that you contact them...they are a good organization. They provide prospective adoptees to both Petsmart and Petco.
The Website says they are open from 700am-900am, 1200-200, and 500pm-700pm
We are not a direct intake facility so we do not take cats or dogs from the public. Our animals come to us through the Denison city pound when we have space available.
If the surgery was performed by PetVet you need to contact them. www.petvetrelief.com DAWG does not have a veterinarian on staff.
What is the name of the client and animal adopted from DAWG? We will locate any records we have for you.
I don't think so
Neither begal, daushoun
Our animals come to us from the Denison pound. I do not believe we have your cat at this time, but we did not have any come in this week. Did the Denison Animal Control Officer take him and if yes, when?
Yes. You can. There is someone there from 7am-9am, 12p-2pm. You can bring them back from 5pm-7pm. You will need to fill out paperwork and provide identification. It always helps to get them out of the shelter environment.
As far as I know they do not provide those services themselves, however if you call up there I'm sure they'll be able to direct you to someone in town who does it cheaply and safely.
My experience was the same as Bianca's. I got a dog there a few months ago, who by the way is a terrific addition to my tlittle wolf pack. I recall paying $60, and the dog was already fixed, inoculated and microchipped. A very good deal
You will need ID to complete the application process in order to volunteer.
It is all volunteer based. All ages welcome but 16 and below will need an adult to accompany them.
You call the health department in Denison Texas and listen for the prompts it takes you to animal control.
They will try and find a foster home for the pup until your mom is able to care for the pup.
Atom, DAWG was established to rescue dogs and cats from the Denison pound so we are not a direct intake facility. If you live inside the Denison city limits they will take it at the Denison pound with proof of residency. If you live outside the city limits it will have to go to the pound that serves Grayson County which is located in Sherman.
You should contact a local rescue such as DAWG, Arf house, or Muttypawz.
Yes all dog must be spayed an or neutered.
Please go up there and see what is available. It changes based on what dogs they pull from the pound.
Need small adult dog
What kind of dog is it i can help re home. Please dont take to the pond
Their selection changes on a daily basis. The best thing to do would be to go by and see or atleast check on their Facebook page each day.
