Great multiuser state forest location. Hiking, equestrian, and mountain biking. The terrain here is often used by hikers training for out of state treks. Historic cemetery a short walk from trailhead. Nice bathroom facilities. Large parking area for cars and for horse trailers.

Tucker Hill is a part of Croom WMA and is located in the Withlacoochee State Forest. Croom WMA is located in Hernando and Sumter counties northeast of Brooksville, and encompasses more than 20,000 acres. This tract of the Withlacoochee State Forest lies along 13 winding miles of the Withlacoochee River and includes Silver Lake. Cypress and large expanses of longleaf pine dominate this forest. The trailheads here include hiking, horse, off-road bicycle, also Twin Pond and East Croom hunt camps are open seasonally. There are numerous recreational trails: hiking (31 miles), bicycling (64 miles), horseback riding (43 miles). The paved Withlacoochee State Trail goes through the area. The restrooms are clean and there is a bike wash area here. I saw wild turkey, Whitetail deer, gopher tortise, a rainbow snake crossing the paved trail and a variety of song birds. I enjoyed the day and I will be back!

Some of the best mountain biking trails in central Florida. This is not your typical flat Florida. There is 178 feet of elevation difference in this area. The trails are well marked, challenging and maintained by a local M. Biking club. There is a two dollar parking fee. Find the envelopes in a small metal box adjacent to the info kiosk Pay the fee as they have volunteers that will ticket you. Don’t miss a tiny family cemetery with all the birth and death dates except a few in the 1800s. It is an unmarked very short trail just adjacent to the hiking trail near the kiosk Croom hiking loop C is an 8 mile loop that will challenge the best with good elevation changes. Part of the trail cuts through a hunting camp with some small RVs and even a porta potty. You can cut 1.5 miles off the hike by taking this sand road as a shortcut. Very scenic. Lots of butterflies.
