Pleasant welcoming eager to please staff. Uncomplicated menu made it easy to decide your order. Generous portions. We both enjoyed our meals and look forward to trying other dishes. It seems to be a popular place and seating is limited. Reservations are highly recommended. The only reason for 4 stars is it is cash only despite what is published online. If we hadn't called to make reservations we would not have known until there to read the sign on the door.

Quaint little resturant, superb quality authentic German food. We found this restaurant via Google maps while passing through. We were able to call and get a reservation. The service was friendly and they were eager to answer any questions about the menu. The food was delicious. Our meals also came with fresh bread and cole slaw. I highly recommend this resturant.

Unlike a lot of German restaurants, Bistro2 carried my favorite variety of schnitzel, "Schnitzel Holsteiner Art" (topped with fried egg and anchovies). I was going to order that until the waitress told us that one of the daily specials was beef rouladen, which they apparently don’t have every day, and which immediately set my dinner companions drooling. So I started with a potato soup (which I half finished before remembering to take a photo) and had the rouladen with a Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock. The rouladen were wrapped around a pickle with a spicy mustard, very flavorful and tangy (frankly, much more so than I've had at some places closer to where I live). For dessert, I was pleased to see that they had “Black Forest CHERRY cake” (emphasis mine)… The full original name of this dessert is “Schwarzwalder Kirsch Torte”, and that’s literally what it translates to. But many places seem to leave out the “Kirsch” (cherry) part and just call it “Black Forest Cake”, chocolate cake with a whipped cream like icing. But here they did it right, with the layers between the cake filled with liqueur infused cherries everywhere! I inhaled it before I remembered to take a photo, however… As we left I spoke to the waitress and got to employ my favorite German word from my first class in junior high school: “Ausgezeichnet!” (Excellent!) I was only in town visiting friends (who had told me about this place on several previous occasions) for a few days, but I definitely plan to come back when I'm in the area again to try the Sauerbraten & Schnitzel Holstein!

Absolutely delicious. Both servers working were fantastic. We had the potato pancakes, chicken schnitzel, gypsischnitzel, double baked cheese cake and Black Forest cake. Wonderful way to celebrate a birthday.

When were you waiting for one hour for your reserved table, Kenneth Greenfield?
Yes they do.
We are currently open from Wednesday through Saturday from 4pm until 9pm. Last seating is around 8.15pm and the kitchen closes at 8.30 pm. We recommend reservations. Thank you and have a great day, we hope to see you soon!
I saw it but I didn't see those items. Is this the place that only takes cash? I think I was there years ago
You can access the German Bistro 2 Facebook page without actually creating a Facebook account. Otherwise there may be a few customer posted images of the menu on yelp or google, or you can stop by the restaurant and ask for a menu to take with you. The restaurant offers authentic German classics such as Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, Rouladen, etc., and all dishes are appropriately priced for the portion size and quality you are getting.
Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6-8. However, he does frequently take time off to go on vacation, so you should call ahead to make sure he'll be there.
