This place is beautiful. I was going to have my daughter's graduation party here but changed my mind at the last minute because of the suspected heat. But this place is really beautiful, I love the lake and the water park. I did not get a chance to go inside the water park but I plan on definitely going. This is a nice place to come and chill, hang out with family, meditate, have a gathering or just recenter your entire being. The vibe is really chill and peaceful.

Best park in Dallas. Minutes from downtown. Catch Dart Tolley, and lake stocked by Texas Fish and Wildlife. Bass, perch, and catfish. Kids can fish free but adults need fishing license. Catch limits, but big striped bass have been pulled out.

It's a cute place. Families enjoy gathering here for the water park, the ducks, or just family celebrations. Lots of trees and the veteran's memorial is clean. Fishing is also allowed here. The lake has some trash in it and bikes are not allowed on the path around the lake. Besides that, the city lake park is a nice spot with lots of shade.

My wife and I love this place. We come quite a lot for walking and for taking photos too. I was very disappointed seeing plastic bags and bottles in the lake. Also seeing people with branches bothering the birds and trying to take the turtles out of the lake just to take them home. We must protect this beautiful environment. There should be some warning signs about that. The Mesquite Veterans Memorial is beautiful. Congrats to the people who were involve in this memorial.

Get a 1 day license at Walmart..its like $15. Or just risk the ticket, but the Game Wardens have came to City Lake Park recently checking for fishing licenses.
Yes. It's actually encouraged. Once a year they have "Kidfish". 1 Saturday in April where they stock the lake with hundreds of adult channel catfish for parents to teach their kids to fish. They give several different prizes. Kids love it! Each kid and parent can take home up to 5 fish, apiece!
There is a charge to get into the pool area. You have to contact the recreation dept. To schedule a party.
Check tpwd website for trout stocking schedule for the entire state.
The park is open if that's what your asking. It was when I went a couple weeks ago.
Yes..no charge. Bring your own gear and bait.
