Pretty casual and low-key atmosphere, decent food, friendly staff, but VERY slow service. We ordered our coffee and food to go (vegetarian breakfast sandwich and yogurt parfait). The coffee took about 5 min to make, but then we waited over 30 minutes for our food. We were sitting by the food prep area and the kitchen workers were moving at a leisurely pace. They had about 10 tickets consistently, each with one or two food items. The cafe didn't seem busy, but it's a spacious location so there may have been more people that it seemed. Eventually a man came on it from the back and got things hustling and moving faster. The food was okay, but nothing amazing or memorable. Also, the granola for the yogurt parfait was unfortunately not gluten free. I would probably go back for coffee, but wouldn't go back for food.

As first time customers we were confused about how things work and had an average experience. We think it is a nice place overall, but has room for improvement. Our suggestions/experience: * The ordering counter looks like a coffee take out spot - so we bypassed that and wandered into what we thought was the restaurant itself. No one said anything to us, and we finally asked a staff person how seating worked. He gave us a funny look, pointed to the coffee area and said to go order there. So we did. This took a few minutes and now we were in the back of a line about four deep. * We wanted to order breakfast and the breakfast menus were up. There was no time designation on anything as to there being a start/stop time for breakfast and lunch. When we made it to the ordering counter and tried to order breakfast items we were told they stopped serving that at 11:00. It was 11:04. So. A sign or two noting the switch would be good. Also. Really, after no direction as to how it works and standing in line, we still couldn’t get eggs at 11:04? * We ordered quiche and avocado toast. The quiche had good flavor but was unbalanced in temperature-some parts warmish and other parts cold. The toasted bagel was good as were the pickled onions. The avocado and the egg were very bland. *When we ordered, no one told us we had to wait for our coffee and mimosa (and water) at the coffee station. We left to look for seats and heard someone else say something about drinks. We asked the same staff person we talked to before and he said we had to go to the bar and get the drinks ourselves. Odd for a restaurant. *When we ordered it was required to pay ahead of time, including the tip. That is awkward when we haven’t actually had a chance to see the quality of the service yet; makes us not want to leave a tip. And, as there really isn’t any service (you take a number, get your own water and your own drinks and seat yourself) it doesn’t seem correct to request a tip. Especially as, after delivering the food, they never came back to check or see if everything was alright. * All in all, maybe it’s three stars. Maybe two. It has potential to be more; just needs a bit more attention to detail, and to the patrons.

Enjoyed the food, forgot to get pictures of the sandwiches we got, but loved the space and the live plant walls!

So excited to have an affordable cafe in the neighborhood again! We went today and it was great. Can't wait for the sun so we can enjoy the patio! The chef was very friendly and service was great. Best latte in OC by far! Would love to see them make more of the food in house, but that will probably change with time!
