I have been trying to contact the person that handles General Assistance at the Portland BIA office for more than a month now. I have left messages and no one has called me back yet. I left another message today. I would like to get some help if possible.

Questions & Answers

I have a check stub from you "the Bureau of Indian Affairs" to my grandfather from the 1930's for construction work at Chemawa Indian School in Salem Oregon. There are stories of a relocation to Warm Springs. Can I get help finding his Tribe?

Freddy, Please read this web page, https://www.bia.gov/guide/tracing-american-indian-and-alaska-native-aian-ancestry. The section, Where To Look For Ancestral Information, on that webpage could provide some information on hiding his tribe. I hope this helps.
