My husband and I have been training with Paul for a few months. Our German Shepherd puppy has some moderate anxiety and OCD issues that we needed some professional help for, and we are so lucky to be working with Paul. In the time we have been training with him, he has helped us get our puppy's anxiety/OCD under control to the point of her sweet personality coming back up to the surface and we are actually able to train her! He is very responsive for questions in between our training sessions, and very flexible on his availability for training sessions. He has many years of experience and is friendly and easy to work with. My husband and I would highly recommend Paul for training German Shepherds or any other dog breed!!

I rescued a Shepherd who was fear aggressive. She had difficulty walking down the street without barking at people, cars, and dogs. Within a few months of training with Paul, my dog is able to go on long walks without being scared. People and cars walk by without any problems. She can even walk past other dogs on the street with little to no reaction. She is a completely different dog. Paul has worked on training not only my dog, but me as an owner. Paul has done such a great job in such a short amount of time, and she continues to improve. I have worked with many trainers over the years with my previous dogs, and I think Paul is the best I've ever worked with. I highly recommend him.

We had a 10 month old German Shepherd, Lincoln, who was out of control. He was eating everything we owned, fear aggressive to strangers, dog-aggressive and would jump on anyone who attempted to walk in our house. We have dog experience and training experience but nothing prepared us for this rambunctious puppy. We went to Paul at Von Dubinhaus Shepherd rescue and have had a very positive experience. Lincoln is now almost 2 years old and he can walk on a leash by my side calmly, he does not jump on anyone, and his other negative behaviors have almost completely stopped. We paid for the board and train program that Paul offers and Lincoln went to Paul for 2 months. We came once to twice a week to work on training with Lincoln and Paul. We paid for the lifetime training so I try and go weekly to Paul's with Lincoln to work on socialization with other dogs. Paul is available by texting and responds quickly. His organization is run from his home and it does need some repairs and clean up but it has improved greatly since I first started going there. His focus is always on the dogs. The dogs love him and Lincoln gets very excited every time we pull up to his house. I trust my dog's instincts and he adores Paul. Paul is picky about who his dogs go to, in an attempt to find them a LASTING home. He has to take many dogs back from people who are ill-prepared for them. He is very blunt and straightforward with his words and easily misunderstood but he is 100% there for the dogs. I get along with him well and he is not afraid to tell me when I am doing something wrong with Lincoln that could increase his behaviors. Some people may be put off by this but he is saying it for the benefit of your pet. All in all, I trust Paul with my most prized possession, my sweet boy Lincoln. Paul has helped us keep him in our family and for that I will always be grateful. I look forward to continue working for him in the future.

We were in way over our heads before we found Paul and Von Dubinhaus Dog Training. Our dog, Frankly is a Shepard mix that we adopted from the Humane Society when he was about 4 months old and while he seemed fine when we picked him up, we soon discovered that he had some bad behaviors - basically barking and growling at other people, dogs, cats, cars, etc., which of course made it very difficult to bring him anywhere. We were later told that it was probably due to him not being socialized properly when he was younger? Anyway, we are first-time dog owners and we were reading and trying all sorts of things, but nothing was working. We were at the end of our rope and came very close to returning him the Humane Society - which was very heart wrenching because he was already a “second chance” dog when we adopted him, so bringing him back would likely have been the end for him? We initially tried a different trainer, but she wasn’t much more effective than us - what I learned is that some (clicker) trainers are probably great at teaching your dog to do tricks, but if your dog has behavioral problems then you need a real trainer. Going to Paul was our last ditch effort and in hindsight, it was a fantastic decision. Frankly is now a great companion, gets along great with other dogs, doesn’t give cars a second look, we take him on daily walks with no issues (in fact he’s much better than most other dogs we meet on walks), never barks (although he does give us a warning when someone comes to the property) - it’s a totally night and day difference! One thing that Paul has that most other trainers don’t is his own pack of trained Shepards. When you go to work with him he brings out his other dogs and they help with the training. I’m convinced that that’s a key reason why he’s so effective. Von Dubinhaus also does boarding, so we drop Frankly there whenever we’re on vacation - we’re comfortable leaving him there, he knows Paul, and I think he remembers some of his “friends” there - it’s probably like camp for him. I highly recommend Paul.

Paul at Von Dubinhaus Shepherds boards. Hes great and his dogs are well taken care of. I've left my Shepherd with him for up to two months for board and training. He took good care of him and my dog loves him.
Please give me a call or a text so we can talk about training you and your dog. Thanks Paul 503-936-0641
