The Oceanside Historical Society is a fantastic organization. They have one of the largest historical photo collections in San Diego County. The historical society works to keep the history of Oceanside alive by hosting monthly "history walks" around downtown Oceanside which are free and open to the public. These walks highlight important historical buildings and events that happened in the buildings and around the area. The Oceanside Historical Society also offers free programs to the community that cover a variety of topics, including the Oceanside Pier, movies filmed in Oceanside, the Oceanside Harbor and many more. They are also a participant in the First Friday Art Walk, which is the first Friday of every month from 6-9 pm in downtown Oceanside. Patrons can walk into the building at 305 N. Nevada St. and see the photos and artifacts on display in the museum. If you haven't been to the historical society yet, go now!
