One of the best Italian restaurants in San Diego. Located in South Park, this is a trendy restaurant in the area with outdoor dining. It seems to be always busy. When we visited this place for Father's Day celebration, the restaurant was packed with live music. Love the vibes here. The foods were amazing and absolutely delicious. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was that we couldn't get our waiter's attention. Maybe because they were busy due to Father's Day celebration. We started the evening with two appetizers. The focaccia bread was so good. I probably shouldn't have ate so much of it. We shared the appetizers and the fried calamari was one of the best we ever had. My son ordered their steak special. It was grilled to perfection. The meat was very tender and juicy. The portion was so huge. My son had to pack half of the food home. Probably the highlight of the evening was the Bronzino fish dish. I loved the tender texture of the fish. Like many high end Italian restaurants, Bronzino is always a featured dish. This restaurant did a good job on bringing out the natural flavor of this fish. I ate the whole fish by myself, no left overs. With the nice breeze outdoor, we had a great evening celebrating Father's Day together with the family.

One of the oldest Italian joints in San Diego and they’re friendly staff and amazingly fresh and quality food proves why. Their daily specials are always made with the freshest ingredients. Although they’re known for their lasagna and pizzas, (literally any single one is delicious) any thing you get here is sure to make your tastebuds sing! They have two locations but this one is a bit more intimate.

Came to celebrate Mexican Mother’s Day. My mom loved the place. She had pasta with pesto sauce, was a big fan. I had the fettuccine carbonara it was good, a bit heavy so I’m glad it wasn’t too late when we ate. We also had their house red wine and tasted pretty good (I’m not a big wine person) the fried calamari was great. The pizza was alright. Good flavor but the dough is so thin and the pizza falls apart when you pick it up.

Great lunch with the family and dog!! All fresh ingredients. Gnocchi special with crab and pink sauce was the table favorite. But the calamari and caprese did not disappoint. Cannot wait to be back. They get busy so make sure to have a little patience or reservations will help!

Being someone who lives within walking distance: they get so slammed, especially during peak restaurant times like Friday/Saturday night, that they can't keep up with the calls. Their reservation system is all paper and calendar-based, and I believe they use the same line to call diners when their table is ready. If you go and they're busy, their wine bar next door is a good place for an aperitivo while you wait for a table. Short of them getting a phone tree - if you go to the voice mail box, listen to it. If it says to leave a message, hang up. They most likely will call you back within ten minutes or so. If they don't, try another call 15 minutes after the first call. If voice mail is full, hang up. Call back five minutes later. If you don't get through on the third attempt, they're slammed. In either case, don't leave a voice mail. They're usually so busy that they work the missed call list instead of voice mails.
No they are not. I recommend arriving early in the evening to make sure you get a table in a timely manner. Its worth it
They do have a few fish plates i believe, probably on the $20-30 range...
Yes, I'm pretty sure you can!
It's called Matteo. Great spot! Look it up.
They take reservations for parties of 6 or more but not sure about Valentine's. You can always call and just ask, they might make an exception considering the kind of holiday it is.
It is but there really is It enough floor space unless you have a really small dog. The restaurant is usually packed and the servers keep up a pretty fast pace do it may not be the best choice of places to bring your dog
Yes. Sometimes takes a while to get your food though..... worth it.
