Tim (who runs the campground) is great! He runs a very clean campground and has stories to share. I didn't get to camp there, but I will plan to now that I've seen the spaces and how they are tucked into the trees and somewhat private. I would suggest taking a truck or high clearance vehicle to the campground as the five mile road to it is none paved, rocky, bumpy, and full of pot-holes. And four wheel drive would be best in case it rains while staying there.

Tim and Barkley are God's gifts to Earth. Amazing host. Great campground if you get there early enough to snag a spot.

Very beautiful area. You have your basic stuff bear proof locker, your tent area is separated from you eating area. I like how you gotta walk a bit from your car to get to your spot. All spots are very private which is nice. They have the public toilets no water but for $2 Tim the camp host can get you a gallon. We loved the trail to lakes. Do not recommend you bring low vehicles as it says before you start driving narrow, rough roads lol. Very clean camp grounds. We will come back for sure.

Questions & Answers

I'm sure the water would be cold, but do people get in the water? Is it a place people are allowed to?

The 'lakes'are beaver pond types, so just a couple of feet deep.

How do you know if the campsite is full. I dont wan to drive all the way and not be able to stay.

Walk ups only. It's a rough bumpy ride, if you don't show up early, just go somewhere else.

There is a fire ban in Boulder county but there are fire pits at the campground so you can have a fire in the fire pit!!!

How big is each campsite? I know it's 8 people max but trying to figure out how many tents we can fit

They are not huge sites and they are all different. The area given will only hold 1 large or 2 smaller tents. Especially with cars. Some spots have more land around the camp spot that might be able to hold one more. I only saw single tent pads.

is it possible with an RV?

Depends on the RV, the road is rocky and narrow with trees crowding the sides of the road in some places.
